He's friends with a mate of mine. Often see him in Southampton.

That one's actually believable too. Wouldn't worry too much about odds though particularly before 1st Jan.

I like Ings but is he going to be the player who pushes us into the top 6-4? I'm not so sure.

According to oddschecker only Betvictor are offering odds on Ings to Saints.

Not unusual though. Bookies dont like these markets. Too many people know more than they do.

Good prospect, but not sure we really need a player like him.

Nothing against him, like I said I think he's a good prospect. But he's not going to come cheap and we already have similar players.

I would really like Ings at Saints. Natural goalscorer and his movement is excellent.

He scores for fun in the Championship, very good tehnical ability and finishing. If not expensive, why not go for him? We might uncover a gem.

Well indeed, I think he would be expensive though, remember Burnley demanded £7m for Rodriguez and you could hardly argue that Ings is worth less to them, especially when they're midway through a potential promotion season.

There's also the question of who would be dropped to get him into the team of course.

I'm sure Adkins will be more than willing to sell him to us. :(

I approve of this. Can't imagine Reading would be keen to let him go mid-season either though.

I'm with ptf on Ings. I'm sure he's good and all, but I highly doubt he's an upgrade on Osvaldo and Lambert, and he's only had half a good season in the Championship anyway.

Alex McCarthy though, I would like. Be nice, Nige.

I think Ings is a very good player, but i don't see him as a necessary additon to our squad.

    McCarthy on the other hand....

If we signed him that would be yet another player coming back to the club after being released from the Youth System/Academy. Somebody ought to devise a quiz question for this [not me], but I can come up with two immediately off the top of my head, and that's Kevin Phillips and Dennis Wise. I'm sure there are others too.

To be fair, Ings has turned into quite a player.
