Lawro thinks we will 2-1, PM David Cameron reckons we will lose 1-0 and the troops (don't know how many of them they asked) reckon we will lose 3-1.

    No.

    I am, however, feeling pumped.

Any news of Nathaniel Clyne's progress? Not too worried, as Chambers is an excellent reserve, but you can't beat Clyne's experience.

Pochettino says there has been no approach from Tottenham.

He says he is "very happy" at Southampton and has a good working relationship with Nicola. Finished by saying that in his career he has never liked to speculate, and he won't start doing so now.

Never thought there was any truth in it...Spurs will take their time about this. Mauricio has an ideal job for him, so can't see him going for a while. And if Nicola's plans for Southampton work out (be still my beating heart) we will be big enough to keep him. Mind you, you never know with Cortese...the next manager for world domination may be already lined up :).

I've lost my usual fear about Saints...get a bit anxious if we are 1 up and getting near full time, but less anxious if we are 1 down....just weird. I've accepted that we will not be top 4 but am also confident that we are in no real danger this season, so it's the most relaxed I have ever been. It is getting to a crucial period for predicting our final league place...there is a gap appearing above us and the gap below us is closing. A win on Saturday will confirm that top 8 is our destination...a loss could put us close to dropping into the bottom half. Personally, I think we are consistent enough to maintain our position. We lost two games you could predict and two that were annoying, but have shown no signs that we are falling apart. Need to turn some draws into wins.

Yes agree Fran. We 've dropped down a bit but have been unlucky with injuries and have still been playing well. I'm still pretty confident we will finish in the top 10 at least.

Also said (according to Echo) that it is important to him to have control over signings. If he doesn't want someone it doesn't happen. Not so sure that was always true with Nigel (may be wrong there), but another reason why Saints suit him.

You are right, but amazing to think he is still only 22/23, in his second Premier League season and we consider him 'experienced'. This says a lot about him as a player and a lot about us as a club.

He can't even run the bloody country let alone forecast a football result. Anyway he thought Lawrenson was talking about the Eton Wall Game.

Anyone know why Cameron didn't make a prediction for United vs West Ham? Too afraid of the electoral consequences of annoying United fans (or everyone else by backing them) perhaps?

Most Man U fans live in safe Tory seats in the Home Counties so I doubt if that was a consideration!
