Are they?

"One group that will definitely be consulted is the FSF, who be conducting a poll of all it's Hull City supporting members.

So if you haven't signed up yet...

http://www.fsf.org.uk/join/"

Is that speculative?

I agree that it's not just a straight vote. Even if 90% of fans were against the name change - if the FA saw some merit in the change it could still go ahead. I just dont think, given the ridicule that the proposal has received from the wider football community and the diluting of the brand based on a football community respected for it's historic traditions, that the FA could possibly think the change of name is a good idea. But we have to keep up the pressure. We can't be complacent.

Just because one comment wasn't speculative by somebody who made a lot of comments doesn't mean that not everybody is speculating!

There are no rules which we can follow. This is the first time a Premier League club has applied to change its name and there is a huge hole in the FA's rules. So they are making them up. They could have held a meeting and voted and that would have been that, as they have ulitimate discretion on accepting/rejecting the application.

They have decided against that and said there will be consultation involving supporters' groups. The wording is plural. As we have campaigned against the name change I would say it is reasonable for us to be asked. I don't know whether we will be or not.

I would expect the OSC to be asked. if they have been asked then we may be out of the loop. If they haven't we may be in it. I expect we will know soon. To me its not worth speculating about. We'll either be asked or we won't. My feeling is given our campaign and the comments we have received nationally we will be asked.

I understand the point about Hull City Council but it will be up to the FA who they include as stakeholders. If they want to ask Hull City Council it is up to them. If they don't think East Riding or North East Lincs Councils are stakeholders then tough.

Finally the FA Council will decide what weight to give to each submission. I'm sure they will be aware that some OSC members are also members of CTWD. Again that's something that the OSC nor CTWD can control. All we can do is respond to what, if anything, the FA ask.

All this may be unsatisfactory, but we are making history. As a result of all this the FA rule book will never be the same again.

If asked there is nothing to stop them responding.

Yep I agree, s'why I put in option 6, The FA will just announce after careful consideration and consultation, they agree to the name change, although that could just as likely be reject the name change.

I doubt anyone knows what or how the FA think or what they'll do.

I would agree, individual protest should have more weight.

I think the FA are very much open to suggestion and persuasion regarding which outcome is best for the FA's principles and visions of the future.

I think we need to convince them that tradition can be a full part of progress. I suspect some Premier League boards will prefer to a precedent set for any changes they may want in the future. In that respect, the FA would need to be specific on their reasons for deciding which ever way.

But. as you rightly say/imply I'm just guessing.

We all are Dutch. You can't even say we're setting a precedent imo because the FA are the most illogical association I've seen, are not consistent in their decisions and they also make some of the weirdest decisions.

The FA need to realise that if they allow us to do it, other chairman that aren't considered "football men" will follow, then soon as there is a chairman change the names will change back and that can only be a bad thing.

at the end of the day there is history in allowing a club to move and change its name in MK Dons and Wimbledon which the Hull City board will point out in discussions regarding the name change. Also as the FA have allowed Coventry to play in Northampton (like us wanting to play in Doncaster) and numerous other things which goes against the traditions of the game so to be quite honest no one can judge what decision the FA will come up with - I suspect there are several club's owners who would also like to change the name of their club, some will be opposed and some will not care so where that leaves any vote is anyone's guess

the reason I am not bothered is cos it is a sport, 22 men kicking a leather (it isn't even leather now cos the little darlings on the pitch are so delicate) ball up and down a piece of grass that resembles a farmers field, more often than not.
I have more important things going on in my life and I suggest those that are really hurt by this, examine their lives and prioritise.

Clearly, you are bothered.

I read loads of stuff that I’m not bothered about on here; or some stuff that I’m slightly bothered about; or stuff that I’m a bit bothered about.

What do I do?

I keep my ****ing trap shut about it because I’m not sufficiently bothered.
