Not ours! BR has had a big dig at both Cardiff & Spurs ownership/leadership. Does anyone else wish he'd just focus on the job at hand? You're not knighted yet Brendan!
i can understand the Cardiff one as could put it down to part of the pre match press interview, also mates with Malcay, but didn't need to comment on the Spurs one, our owners will see that and be thinking hmmm. hope not but, like Brendan said about their owners they are business men, hope he hasn't shot himself in the foot.
Rodgers does tent to get carried away and is very bubbly when we are doing well. He needs to get a grip at the moment plenty of footy to be played yet.
As long as the players take the opportunity we will be top by Saturday afternoon. I'm a little scared of that.
Me too! Every time we get in that position the T word starts to appear everywhere......then we lose form and everyone looks a tit! I'll take being top for Christmas though, results allowing.....Turkey always tastes better when we're top
Even if it all goes wrong at least the improvement is there for all to see, how many times is recent years have we heard other fans talking about us like they are now? Life as a Liverpool fan is good right now lets hope it lasts.
Good on him for saying what we all think. Makes a change for a manager to be as direct as that about another club, as opposed to the staged political type responses that you normally read.
Was it 2006/7 that we sat on top of the tree at christmas under Rafa?...then the wheels came off. Should of won it that year. Haven't had a sniff since then. I have a Utd fan as an uncle who is comparing the impact Cantona had on Utd to that of Suarez with Liverpool. I hope he's fecking right.......
I agree (in this instance) that he hasn't gone too far. He was asked a question about Malky and he answered it very well but with the feeling of a man who's obviously a friend (bare in mind he worked with MM before). So he has respect for other managers...is that really an issue? What he said about having a lucky escape from Spurs is spot on too. He did.... My biggest worry is that the last team we faced who's owners were treating the club like a play thing was Hull
I think in this case, Tan has done you a big favour, as Mackay's position is untenable & I can't see him being in the dugout tomorrow. I'd expect that to lead to a reaction on the pitch, but not a positive one........
Agree with you there Tobes. This will have no affect on our performance either. It was a press conference for the game involved and the Spurs story is similar and also came after we thrashed them. Let's not forget that.
One thing in particular I want Brendan Rodgers to stay off is "Mind Game". It is not always helpful for all managers except Fergie.
i would say it is often easier to play mind games if you are successful, i have seen fergie make some ******ed comments in the media and thought wtf, but as he usually won the title he got away with half the ****e he said, and the media never made an issue of it as he could have quite easily shoved it back in their faces.
Honestly don't think this came under the mind games category or even the doesn't know when to shut up category. Think he strongly believes a fellow manager and friend is being treated shamefully. Pretty much everyone other than the most mercenary Cardiff fan would have to agree. MM didn't show for the pre match press conference today. I actually hope he's not in the dugout tomorrow. I think the players might bust a gut for him. No manager and they might give up a bit. Their Glorious Leader Tin Pot Tan WILL be at the match I understand. Reaction to that will be interesting......
Was it that recent I recall that we couldn't win for toffee having got to the top of the table.....tons of draws if i recall.
