Yes, sorry. The answer is no becsuse it is not in a football context.... Although folk listening to him in a pub after a match could be if it is on their way home.
I honestly can't understand why people would think it is acceptable to sing Roll of Honour at A football match. Is that just me who thinks like that? Whatever one's Politics or beliefs you have to understand the content is offensive to a large number of people in Scotland and elsewhere. In an ideal world (maybe) people should be able to say and sing what they like, but there is a time and a place for everything and this song is not being sung in the right places or at the correct time. I don't think the GB or their ilk (Not that i'm suggesting the GB were involved of course) are so daft that they think people will not be offended by hearing the song. I don't decide what is offensive for everyone, I leave that to the law, and if some folk are foolish enough to think singing certain songs from the Celtic and/or Rangers songbook is acceptable any more, then they deserve to be arrested for their own safety.
I agree it's not offensive. I can't see how it can be. However as it has **** all to do with football it need not be sing at the football Cracking tune though.....I'm away to youtube it
This is the only credible arena for debate. Not the criminalising of displays of Irish Republicanism.
I know it sounds silly, but... Dawn raids Arrests at airports New laws made specifically for you I'd laugh if it wasn't so ridiculous
The relationship between the songs and football is a different argument Making it a crime to sing a song is no different from making it a crime to share an opinion We are looking at sending people to prison, not for harming a person or even threatening them, but for hurting their feelings I heard today that a judge wants the police to prosecute people who joked about Clutha...now compare that to singing songs about provos and I would guess we would think its a worse thing to do...well the door is open for that now to be the next new law in Pleasantville
It's about time the eejits get slapped doon to their rightful place at the bottom of the heap. The sectarian bile from neds in this country is a national embarrassment. If they canny behave by their own volition then wallop them and wallop them good. It can never be too soon to see the back of them. And as for morons thinking a football match is the time, place, and platform to make 'political statements', well, that says everything there is to say about a moron. The lot of them can get tae ****, regardless of what team they support, and if jailing the ****s is what it takes then am all for it. Am sick to the back teeth of these self important deluded ****ers. If they have legitimate grounds for protest then do so. But keep fitba out of it and we'll all be the better off for it.
You seriously do not think that a song in praise of members of the Provisional IRA is not offensive to the VAST majority of the people of the UK or even Scotland? I have to ask how you come to that conclusion ?
I'm already laughing. So are you suggesting that there is no such thing as an "Offensive" song? Really?
If that's true about a Judge saying that about jokes about the Clutha, then whose fault is that? The neds. That's who. Did these idiots think they could go on with their ****e for 90 minutes week in week out and nothing would get done? Did they think the tit for tat between sectarian sides could go on indefinitely? Did they think they could claim 'political protest' without anybody seeing straight through that for what it really is? Well, take a bow, you ******s. You got legislation passed to come straight for ye's. And now that slippery slope has been started upon don't be surprised when the legislation is used to come after other people for other reasons - such as making jokes about the Clutha. Again, neds of this country, take a bow and bask in the magnificence of your breathtaking self interest and stupidity.
I was responding to this: This is quite simply not true. What you are talking about is something else, something even more absurd.
And how would a London based rebel like you know the feelings of Scottish people? Being a rebel by remote proxy means you know **** all.
Thought not. He's a remote coward by proxy too. Like his terrorist 'heroes'. Big men who killed in cowardly fashion.
I didn't think you wanted one. You've made it clear you don't think my posts hold any credence, so there seems little point in reciprocating with an appraisal of yours. I'm fairly convinced you don't read my posts anyway
