Just because he played for Utd under Fergie and has won a couple of titles with Moldy doesn't mean he'll be a success here. Hughes, Keane, Beachball head, and even Sam Allardyce who was under Fergie more and longer than most prove that.
Obviously everyone isn't meant to be a manager, and some succeed at smaller levels, but I feel a lot of them become managers because they can, more so than its what they want to do. It's well documented that Ole had spoken to Fergie about becoming a manager early on in his United career, and would take notes on every practice session. Ole also said he was so effective off the bench because he would studiously observe opposing teams during the game so he could exploit defenders weaknesses. That doesn't mean he will succeed here, but I think he has what it takes to be a successful manager in England. I'm not sure he's leave Norway for West Brom or Cardiff though. He went back to Norway because of his family and imagine he wants his kids to grow up there so he may resist offers to stay in Norway. Spurs I think would get him to pack his things however.
I was only joking Mano, it either will or won't work out based on results, but Fergie has helped many managers at many clubs with advice and he bent over backwards to help his son with Utd players on loan etc and he can't hack it even in the lower leagues. Can't remember any of his former players being successful tbh, in the end its down to the individual.
I agree. He'd be better off waiting for a better job, even if that means going to Portugal or Holland first. Going to WBA or Cardiff to fight relegation is risky, perhaps too risky. He could destroy his career before it really gets started. Plus, it is much harder to get recognised for a big job if you are at these sort of clubs. The big clubs are looking for winners, it is rare (Rodgers and Moyes are the exception although the BR/LFC situation was slightly different in that we'd been struggling for a while and we'd dropped away) for them to appoint someone from the lower ranks.
