Cardiff fans have bent over backwards to accommodate any shyster willing to offer them the dream of being better than us. Loyal to their club? Loyal to their own egoes maybe.

And we welcomed Petty with open arms as well. Just saying.

    Seriously? You genuinely believe that?

From day one Petty was treated with suspicion. I remember it well. As soon as it became obvious what he was about (which for those in the know was long before he started trying to sack players) the resistance started. Comparing our reaction to him with Cardiff fans reaction to Tan is an insult to anyone who fought to remove Petty from our club.

I mentioned Petty on the Cardiff board. I knew Petty's solicitor and Petty was traumatised by the reaction he got here, he really was. There were thousands marching in the streets. Having said that the situation at Cardiff is different and Tan has them by the short and curlies and they know it.

Actually most were duped into the little info the media gave out which explained he was a London based businessman. Being nearer the bottom than the top many expect a little investment.

You may talk of gin and beer
When you're stationed way out here
An' you're sent to penny fights an' Aldershot it
But when it comes to slaughter
You will do your work for water
An' you'll lick the bloomin' boots of 'im that's got it.

    Now in Inja's sunny clime
Where I used to spend my time
    Servin' her Majesty the Queen
Of all the black faced crew
    The finest man I knew
    Was regimental bhisti, Gunga Din

    The uniform he wore
    Was nothin' much before
An' rather less than half of that behind
But a piece of twisty rag
    An' a goatskin water bag
Was all the field equipment he could find

When a sweatin' troop train lay
In a sidin' through the day
Where the heat would make you bloomin' eyebrows crawl
    We shouted, "Harry by"
    Till our throats were bricky-dry
Then wopped him 'cause he couldn't serve us all.

He would dot an' carry one
Till the longest day was done
An' never seemed to know the use of fear
If we charged a broke or cut
You could bet your bloomin' nut
He'd be waitin' fifty paces right flank rear.

With his mussick on his back
He would skip to our attack
An' watch us till the bugles made "Retire"
An' for all his dirty hide
He was white, clear white inside
When he went to tend the wounded under fire.

    It was Din, Din, Din
With the bullets kickin' dust spots on the green
And when the cartridges ran out
You could hear the front files shout
Send ammunition mules, and Gunga Din!

    I shan't forget the night
When I fell behind the fight
With a bullet where my belt plate should a' been
I was chokin' mad with thirst
An' the man that spied me first
Was our good old grinnin', gruntin' Gunga Din

    He lifted up my head
An' he plugged me where I bled
An' he gave me half a pint of water green
It was crawlin' and it stunk
But of all the drinks I've drunk
I'm most grateful to the one from Gunga Din

    He carried me away
    To where a dooli lay
An' a bullet came and drilled the beggar clean
    He carried me inside
    An' just before he died
I hope you liked your drink said Gunga Din.

So I'll meet him later on
In the place where he as gone
Where it's always double drill and no canteen
He'll be squattin' on the coals
Givin' drinks to poor damned souls
I'll catch a swig in hell from Gunga Din

    It was Din, Din, Din
    You Lazarushian-leather Gunga Din
Tho' I've belted you an' flayed you
By the livin' God that made you
You're a better man than I am, Gunga Din.

Good to see some if you aren't that cynical.

Rodgers worked with him previously, and ultimately they both work in the same profession which is increasingly difficult and cut throat.

Fair to say that Tan has made some colossally bizarre 'moments' so far. Imagine who he will appoint to take over From Malky, it could literally be anyone!

What are the bookies offering for Noel Edmunds to be next Cardiff boss? Got a hunch!

Actually yes, yes I do. Nobody was a clairvoyant back then so no need to make out you were. We were told a fairly successful businessman was buying in to the club, we were told he might invest a small amount of cash. Only the very few of the usual doomsayers actually had a suspicion as they would with any new person who would buy into our club. Just because they think that about everyone doesn't mean they saw it from the beginning because it is like the Express saying it will snow on Xmas day, they are bound to be right one day.

The majority had no idea what happened was going to happen and that is how it is.

They also climbed Kilimanjaro together, what's your point? nobody is questioning Rodgers ties with Mackay and his backing of him is being applauded on this thread

Actually we were told that an Australian sporting club would "possibly" be investing in the team. That "possibly" started alarm bells ringing straight away and it didn't take long before suspicions were confirmed.

You can try to justify your earlier comments any way you choose to. The truth is that there is no possible way to compare Swans fans reactions to Petty with Cardiff fans supine acceptance and encouragement of Tan. It's nonsensical to do so.

Actually we were woken up to news that our club was bought for just £1 (because we were already in some trouble) and that a Londoner with business links to Australia was the buyer. That is what happened, some here have very, very, very short memories. I am a bit surprised that people don't remember that our club was sold for so little and how we were worrying before he actually bought us.

I and many, many others were less worried about 'possibly' as you put it and more concerned with current situation that was hand at that time before he bought us.
