Yeah I've seen this story doing the rounds bit of a non starter for me and Michu needs to keep quiet about it too. Let our manager get in with signing players instead
yes i have heard that also. I could not help but laugh at michu as under the same breath in another comment he say's that he wants to join the Arsenal and he wants to keep the door open of a chance to join them...maybe in january..
Yes fair do's I've seen the Arsenal rumour with Muchu doing the rounds elsewhere. Can't see it he simply hasn't been playing well enough to warrant it
Heard the Aspas thing too. I'm a bit skeptical at this point. Is it the press trying to create a story ? remember last month it was Sterling who was coming here. Also read a story, somewhere, that Paul Ince had snubbed us and signed a long term deal with Blackpool. Snubbed us ? Have we ever been interested in this guy ? I think Rodgers mentioned his name when he was here, but since, nothing. Anyone know anything about Aspas, is he better than Alvarez ?
Your right about ince stumpy, the club has never said anything about him and it was the fans who as usual added 2 = 2 and made 5. Also i agree that michu needs to start showing what he had last season as he has been nothing but average so far and any bigger club wont want an average player.
Michu looks like he's on the way out to me. For me he's not been happy all year and with his public, although understated, admission of his desire to play champions league football, maybe he is on his way, even in January. Aspas in Michu out in Jan ???
Michu is more than happy at swansea, of that I'm certain. Of coarse he wants to play for a top club in the champions league 99.9 % of players do, that doesn't mean he's planning to leave in January. Media talk again.
You seen him during games this season Sbulby? I wouldn't say he seems happy...he looks an incredibly frustrated figure. Be it with his own performances or that of his team-mates not living up to his own high standards... That said, I don't think he's also in any rush to leave the club, he's just incredibly competitive and our inconsistency is winding him up (as much as it us) I'd be quite surprised to see him leave in Jan, more likely the Summer when we'll probably lose Laudrup. Either way I imagine we'll get a decent wedge of cash for re-investment, and he's been a legend for us so will receive a warm send-off. Sorry, just realised, this thread was about Aspas wasn't....If Vasquez isn't close to fitness I can see the benefits of a 3 month loan, or end of season...decent player that would do well playing around Michu or behind Bony...
Sbulby Hope your right sbulby, I'm just fearful he'll go in Jan, I cant help thinking he's unhappy. Hope I'm wrong, its just a gut feeling I have.
I wouldn't have a go at Michu about this. It's highly unlikely he's phoned up a reporter out of the blue and started talking about Aspas. More than likely he was specifically asked about it and gave an honest answer. Aspas is well down the pecking order at Liverpool and would be a great fit here. It would also provide some serious competition for Bony up front.
This is one reason why the league should abolish the "January " window , nothing but paper talk building up fans & in some instances players hopes for a big money move ,most of them are on big contracts which become meaningless at this time of the year .Why have for 3 months into the season an opportunity to cause more distribution to clubs. They've made their beds now lie in it
I mentioned Aspas about three weeks ago when the media reported that he wasn't happy with his role as an understudy at Anfield. I mooted the possibility that Laudrup might be interested in a loan move as he had obviously been hoping to sign the player himself. Michu would have been aware of this and perhaps took the opportunity to jog Laudrup's interest. This shouldn't imply that he and Bony don't get along. I think that Michu is dissatisfied at our progress this season and probably feels that the more class players we have at the club, the better. The fact that he knows Aspas and has played in the same team as him previously obviously influences his thinking. The only problem is that Aspas has hardly set the world on fire at Liverpool, his chances being restricted because of the form of the SAS partnership. There's no guarantee that he would step in and immediately hit his straps with us but he obviously has great potential, which attracted Laudrup in the first place.
What I have been told from someone close to the club, is that michu is injured and needs an operation. How true this is I don't know but sounds plausible to me.
Aspas made it apparent that he didn't want to join us in the summer, why should we go for a player who doesn't want to play for us?
Well it could be that he has realised that perhaps Liverpool may be a bigger club but that Swansea may be a better place for him to play his football. Why not? He may suit our style of play better than Vasquez.
I tend to agree with Taffvale. We shouldn't cut our nose off to spite our face. If Laudrup thinks he can bring something to the table that would be good enough for me.
