Very strong stories that a deal is about to be struck and he is definitely in Town. please log in to view this image
Just read that him and Sascha were photographed together. Truly excited by this appointment, hope he is fit and ready to play. He scores with his left, he scores with his right ".......
Thought I'd posted it in my original post froggy, but anyway here it is: please log in to view this image PS since putting it up on twitter, with a "Welcome back" message, Sascha has deleted it!?
Like others I wasn't sure where he'd play and posted the hope it would mean marginalising Dejagah, again. However, your suggestion about him competing with Kaca on the left, froggy, does in fact appear the most likely option. Whatever, so long as he returns with the same predatory skills in front of goal he'll do.
Do you reckon he'll get the No 23 back, if Derek Boateng does leave at the same time as his return? please log in to view this image
I had the same thought Craven, but assume that he'd take the space behind Berbatov - Not easy though. Anyhow, I'll certainly welcome Clint back, scoring with his left and with his right. C O Y W
Mark Maunders, player care manager at Fulham has just tweeted "all that glistens isn't gold", I hope he's not referring to the Dempsey rumours.
This is good news / bad news for me. The good news is that Dempsey has skill, graft and guile, qualities we desperately need. Plus he's NOT a sure bet to start, or even make, the USA WC squad without showing Juergen Klinsmann that he's still got quality and form to offer; there are good young US attackers poised to take his place. So I suspect Dempsey will give his Fulham loan 100%. The Bad news: he's been playing poorly in a lessor league since ... well, since he left Spurs, so I'm not convinced he's got much to offer us. I don't think he can even train with the team until the loan's official in January. In short, but I can't see his loan spell having much effect on our fortunes. I hope I'm wrong about that. Karma - Dempsey will always be considered a Fulham player. For years he gave it all for this team, and the team and fans loved him for it; the circumstances of his departure were unfortunate. Hopefully he can do enough during this loan to win back the fan support he deserves.
I suspect that if he comes he won't have to worry about winning back the fans. The hostility when he left didn't seem to last long, and I think most fans now have no ill-will towards him. Reservations, for some of us, as to whether a return is a good idea, but that's a very different thing. I'm sure he'll get a good reception if it happens.
I don't think what happened should be completely glossed over though - the man refused to play for us.
his last tweet during his refusing to play days stated "the truth will come out" - I expect this if he joins.
News Just In: Fulham Football Club: The Head Coach also confirms Clint Dempsey has undergone a medical at the Club with a view to returning to #FFC. Dempsey would return for January and February if a loan deal is completed.
