Whoops - was I tempting fate? http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/dec/19/tim-sherwood-unsure-tottenham-west-ham
A really interesting story here. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25451422 Probably didn't cost too much, but it seems odd that he should want to try and make a success of it.
I heard on 5 Live that MM is being pushed out at Cardiff. Received an email from the owner to quit or be sacked - I don't believe the owner knows Malky to well then! As much as I dislike Cardiff, I do feel sorry for the supporters - I have a horrible feeling they will crash and burn. On previous form he will probably bring in a mate of his sons!
Have a tiptop Xmas and New Year all A bit early I know but I am off to the beach for a couple of weeks. Hopefully we'll be a bit higher up come New Year! Enjoy the Christmas spirit and a happy new year to all!
Good morning all from a chilly Weston-super-Mare, I'm off shortly and will be off-line until Sunday evening, please do me a favour and smash Ipswich to pieces! Have a good weekend!

I have always said that it was ok for Mackay to leave and I don't have a problem with that. But what I do have a problem with is the ruthless way which he "encouraged" so many others to join him. I now have a wry smile when he is on the receiving end of such ruthlessness. What goes around comes around.
Well said Cornish. Hornets fans seem to have double standards when it comes to MM and Brendan. Both left for valid reasons - one for a former club with which he had genuine ties; the other it seems because he did not trust the owner. Both conducted themselves with a lack of integrity - one by saying he did not like his integrity being questioned and the other by signing a new contract which he clearly had no intention of honouring. Ultimately though both looked after their own interests as we all do and good luck to them. I would have only one of them back however - the one who is a really good manager - Brendan. He did not denude us of players and staff or use private information on known loopholes to shaft his former club. Ultimately it seems both will have ended up getting the push themselves - and both will be richer for the experience in more ways than one. I am aware that mine is a minority view as most hornet fans consider that the one sentence saying he would not leave is he ultimate sin when he broke his word. Football is so well known for its honesty and integrity though isn't it? Watford of course were not lining up a replacement ready to sack GFZ were they?
At one of the fans forums, a no show Baz one I think, GT was asked about poaching staff, and admitted to getting Ellis, Booth and Ward from Lincoln in the same way. It seems to only be an issue when you are on the receiving end.
It is normal to take some of the backroom staff with you, but at some point the numbers you take become inappropriate. And this was referred to by GT at the time of Mackay's departure.
Morning all Just off for a posh pub lunch with Mrs H's brother and sister-in-law. Fish and seafood should be on the menu and then a bit of a walk if it's still as sunny as now. The house is cleaned, the Christmas cake iced (the second..I ate the first one!), the presents wrapped, various food prepared and frozen...so we're ready for the invasion to begin on Saturday.
