No I'm serious I think his enthusiasm is what you need. Can you imagine his team talks at half time. Very inspiring!
I think spurs need a motivator. The team are suffering from post Bale depression and they need an uplifting manager. AVB was not that type. I've mentioned Martinez before and was told he is not good enough for spurs so I'm guessing Barry Scott would be a better option?
Its not that he isn't good enough. more he is still unproven at the level we want to reach, there have been a few managers who took teams near the top four, Pardew, even George Burley and we can't judge Martinez until hes been at Everton for at least two seasons. Plus he won't just leave Everton, hes enjoying himself there, has a good group of players, both young and old and if anyone actually thinks we can poach their manager then they need their head examined!
It's quite funny how a lot of people are talking about getting an experienced manager who's good at man-management/ motivation. Funnily enough we sacked a guy like that 18 months back.
why can't we get a motivator who knows tactics? Surely they are the 2 main things a manager needs. Why are there so many about who can only do one?
If and it's a big if, Frank de Boer takes the job, will he bring his current assistant with him? I bloody hope not.
I don't think its any coincidence that we did well when we had managerial stability and although Redknapp had many weaknesses it would most likely have worked well if we had kept him. And Levy makes loads of mistakes, but I don't seek perfection from anyone because it's not possible. You have to say that the AVB appointment was wrong once he has been sacked in these circumstances. If I was the chairman AVB would still be there (or possibly Redknapp might still be there working with a DoF).
Why is Sherwood saying he is in the frame for the job, anyway? Chris Hughton wasn't in the frame when Gerry Francis wasn't, and Clive Allen wasn't in the frame when Jol got unceremoniously jettisoned. ...although in both cases, you have to wonder if they'd have been any worse.
I was talking about Bergkamp, but Spiderman, great, we need a super hero to rescue us. And I'm having second thoughts about Bergkamp actually, if he was a Spurs fan, Prodigal son, forgiveness and all of that. So a farmer, spiderman and the prodigal son, sounds like the cast of BGT.
Found this quite amusing about Sherwood, got the nickname 'Slippery' at Blackburn, no-one quite knew what he was up to....a couple of posters here just might have a wry smile at that one. http://www.football365.com/mediawatch/9078802/Mediawatch The Sun ran one of their photoshop articles on him as Tim-inator! his head was half Arnie robot and half Sherwood, that aspect is quite pleasing really, only having to see half his ugly mug.
Malky Mackay will be available shortly. Might be a decent option if no one else is available, and, he'll have a point to prove.
I put this in the bill nick. Nice choice of thread, Roo Apparently the info comes from the same guy who said that willian wasn't a done deal when we all thought he was, and he ended up going to Chelsea.
