I can't see how Sherwood couldn't see it was a poor decision, though. They're bound to attack, as they had to. They're bound to go long, as that's what they've been doing all game. Defoe can't play up top on his own. Stupid choice.
Lloris isn't as perfect as some believed, he has some great qualities but is prone to making basic errors.
I'm not normally one to come on your board and gloat, but sorry, you were embarrassing tonight In all seriousness though, where do you go from here, Sherwood clearly isn't the answer.
Another manager gone, then. Really pissed off with that, as this should've been a competition that we could win, but we've blown it against a second string West Ham with only one idea. Poor initial selection, really poor substitutions and a total waste of time and energy. We need the new bloke in quickly, whoever it is. Hope Levy doesn't panic after that, though.
No reason to at least hold off sacking AVB till we have someone faintly resembling a manager to take his place. Not like it could get any worse.
If I can put a positive spin on this… if we won tonight, it would paper over several cracks and we'd all be saying that its easy to sort this out and just go 4-4-2 every game and Sherwood can take over for the rest of the season. The manner of this loss again shows the squad's confidence is on the floor and a result like this is needed to put pressure on the board to make the right appointment and pronto. Levy and co have to take responsibility if they had no contingency in place after sacking AVB. I'm not suddenly saying I didn't want him out but I get the distinct impression we have no plan in place to get our season back on track and that's just plain madness.
Bloody hell. I have a really smug female west ham fan at my work. Not looking forward to tomorrow at all.
Even as someone that dislikes Avb I knew we would sack him and walk into another mistake due to the timing. But I guess there is a slim chance Levy and Baldini will bring in the new Messiah.
