This is all a bit Redknapp, isn't it? Wonder how much input he had?

If we win 5-0 then alot :p but more likely Sherwood was talking to Pleat, his mentor!

Now we can see what decent players can do when not inhibited by a manager.

Lloris; Walker, Chiriches, Capoue, Rose; Lennon, Dembele, Sigurdsson, Townsend; Adebayor, Defoe
Subs: Friedel, Fredericks, Fryers, Chadli, Eriksen, Holtby, Soldado

Whilst the midfield has this long-forgotten concept known as "width", the centre looks a tad weak, mainly due to our lack of centre back options. Can we spin Verts' blood a little faster?

Our main edge over West Ham going into this game was no one knew what to predict, very hard for Sam to prepare

We've run out of steam a bit, it seems. Yet to test the keeper, too.

Adebayor will play for the love of the club, or is it for the love of the wage or just the fact he has stopped sulking now Avb has gone.

Either way, after his antics last year I hope he's gone from the club soon.

Really soft booking for Adebayor there. Really soft.

He'll play for the love of not losing 2/3 of his wages this summer.

Ah great news, does that mean he will turn up on time or does his behaviour depend on who the manager is.

Allardyce has definitely reverted to type for this game. Long balls up to the big man and hoping to profit from the chaos.

He'll turn up until January 17th, when he'll have reason to show up somewhere else.

Started well, but then ran out of ideas and steam a bit about halfway through. Better to watch than we have been, at least.
Need to improve our final ball in the second half and be a little more patient when we're playing it through the middle, I think.

Hopeful start petering out in a welter of non-goals. Story of our season. Sack Sherwood!

Chiriches is our best player. Lennon and Rose quite good. Ade and Gylfi decent. Townsend is not as good as Chadli. Defoe poor--a goal scorer who can't score is useless. Soldado contributes with his passing.

    Redknapp would agree.

Be patient. Keep creating chances and the goals will come. I'm no wheeler dealer.

Pretty sick of the Defoe-Ade partnership already, to be honest. Didn't like it under 'Arry, didn't like it under AVB and don't like it now. Adebayor's actually doing quite well but to be honest seeing him running about all smiles and putting a shift in is actually annoying me. Defoe's been appalling, offside and skying over the bar at every opportunity.

Other than that I've enjoyed the tempo, the work down the wings and I think Sigurdsson and Dembele have worked surprisingly well in the middle.

Our David Pleat is saying on Radio 5 that these two need to go forward and take more shots at goal. Without seeing the match, I suspect this would leave the midfield exposed?
