They beat a real strong arsenal side 6-3, and they didn't out out their strongest team and beat Bayern Munich in Munich. If they can get a draw in Barcelona, ties as good as over if City's home form continues.

If Barca come to City and play at there best it won't really matter how good there home form is, they do have a chance though, should be an interesting tie.

Difference is for City, home or away, they simply wont have the ball enough to impose their game like they do in the P.L. Not saying they can't win the tie, cos they can, but they'll have to find another way to do it.

Using the very basic rule of thumb that gets tripped out on this type of forum, City beat, at home, the side which beat Barca seven nil on aggregate last season.
Ergo, Barca are eminently beatable for a side of City's attacking prowess.

Barcelona's best line of defence is not giving the ball away as their actual defenders aren't that great. I can see City giving Barca a hell of a match over two ties, with Barca's experience in this type of match should just edging it though for me.

I was going to mention him then decided not to bother.

He's not going to help their defending much is he?

    Barca are very beatable.
Like Ruff said, they're defensive tactic basically entails keeping hold of the ball so the opposition cannot attack.
When the opposition DO get the ball, defensively, they are not that great.
Hell we put 2 past them at the Nou Camp with Torres upfront! :)

  8. Depends what you mean by defending. If Barca keep possession then technically, that's defending as their opponents can't score if they don't have the ball. Messi will be back by the time they meet too.

    Like I said earlier;

and I STILL don't see how Neymar helps with that. I know you love him and but it's their midfield who carry out this role.

True but Bayern were complacent (much like last year when they lost at home to Arsenal). In both cases the job was done in 2 brilliant away performances at Emirates and Etihad. Had Bayern had to win at home against City they would have IMO.

Any team set up to play like Barca is going to be weaker in defence purely because amazing attacking players can rarely defend that well. You're not going to get much help at the back from Messi, Neymar, Sanchez or Inniesta. Paint them orange and they could go work for Willy Wonka. With the players City have and their good home record (in the league at least) they have a chance but I just can't see them getting past Barca. Not with the second leg at the Nou Camp and the difference in experience at this level.

Good draw. Wouldnt be the toughest route to the final.

Still doubt we'll win it. Getting past the greeks will be nice.

The league is the most important thing so getting knocked out but getting top 4 would be better.

Barca are beatable since some time now
    City are beatable too
overall Barca have more classy players

people need to remember that City only beat a shaky UTD side, and over rated Arsenal side, and a Bayern side who were not really that bothered in the 2nd leg , we seen the real Bayern at first leg , the 2nd one we seen was the "am not that bothered side who beat City away with good margin"

They beat a midtable Utd side and the current prem leaders and a Bayern side that are proud of their home European record(apart from the Chelsea final), your not in a position of power to diss other clubs achievements at the moment Shwan.

And Barca including Messi have only been beaten once at the Nou Camp by an English club in the CL.

tbh team tend to be complacent if they were in Bayern situation, the first match is the real reflect for each side .. is just like last year Arsenal beating Bayern away in same circumstance when Bayern didn't had to push for 2nd gear ..
current leaders Arsenal.. tbh they are not better than UTD, is just they were lucky so far with no injuries for key players and not playing good sides till end of the season , and tbh everytime they played a decent side, they sucked big time

<confused> And how have you come to this conclusion?
10 points clear in the league, qualified from the Group of Death in the CL.
RVP and Rooney aside, Man Utd's squad is pretty shocking......we have really got to see the difference Sir Alex made to the side since his departure.

PLS look to the bigger picture, don't let the table fool you.. Arsenal played mostly bottom half of table at start of the season, they are just now playing decent sides , they looked average in CL and were lucky to stay as Napoli never scored the 3rd, knocked out of league cup too. looked average facing every good side even when beating Liverpool and spurs , they were not the best side ..

sure UTD are suffering from change of managers, but still our average side was better than Arsenal when we played each other.
same argument is applied on liverpool, there is no chance they are better than chelsea or City just bcz they are on top of them in the table and they were many points ahead too, and you will see how table will change in coming weeks especially for Arsenal and liverpool
