I'd agree with every word save for labelling Zeman in his list of hipsters. WTF?!? Save for getting Pescara promoted to Serie A - against the odds and playing brilliantly I hasten to add - he's been an abject failure for the last 15 years. He was sacked by Roma last year after guiding them to mid-table and after selling over £50m of talent this summer they're now second and unbeaten heading towards the winter break! If anyone is deemed a hipster surely it should be Rudi Garcia who has achieved brilliant results with a worse team on paper than Zeman had, playing extraordinary attacking football in the meantime.

But yes, great peice on Our Steve.

I hope not. If or when we do lose him, I hope its cos a bigger club has come in with an offer no one would refuse. Unless of course we end up as one of those big teams, and he turns out to be the longest serving manager since Fergie.

With the manager merry-go-round currently in full swing I can imagine SB won't be far off top of several lists but hopefully, as a man of the highest integrity, I believe he will stay with us to prove his previous doubters wrong. Following his ridiculous dismissal from Sunderland he was in the wilderness for many months and we gave him the platform to show again what he is capable of and for that I'm sure he is most grateful (plus he knows he is worshipped here). That article was a great read by the way.

I really disagree. As the article alludes to, he's just not 'sexy' enough for a big club. There will always be some bright, spunky, lithe young thing who is making a name for himself who turns the big clubs heads a la AVB who then turns out to be the Emperor's New Clothes a la AVB. If you sit down and think about, which 'big club' can you honestly ever see going for Bruce? I would suggest literally the only one possible would be the Jawdies. He would give his right bollock to manage them and they love a local lad, but even then the Sunlan situation could possibly go against them (even though they all know he was a Mags fan).

Nope, we're stuck with him until we want rid or he's just thinks he cant take us any further and wants to retire to the beach.

I agree with what you've said but apart from Spurs what other 'big' clubs' are currently looking for a new manager? I was really thinking more about the Fulhams of this world, altho' I realise they're sorted now.

    Love that bit

"Not when Alex Bruce is part of the last defence to keep out Luis Suarez (he'd scored six in four prior to that and a fairly silly eight in three since). And for those who were subjected to Hull's goalless draw with Stoke on Sky Sports at the weekend - young Alex present and correct in the back three

I think that will require major cash injection from a sponsor or new owner. This will be best achieved by rebranding I would humbly suggest. All the luddites can stop coming.I would imagine executive box income will greatly nullify the anoraks we will lose.
