â£20Mâs The Right Price, Just Get Over Itâ Date: 12th June 2011 at 5:23 pm | Filed under: Europa Cup,Liverpool,Premiership,Sunderland | Author: Escapini With Liverpool signing Jordan Henderson , I think itâs time someone said a few positive words about what a great signing he is. Firstly, Hendersonâs first experience at Liverpool will be under Kenny Dalglish, who has known nothing but success at the club, so there will be no underperforming attitude that needs changing. Henderson marks the beginning of the âNew Broom Sweeping Cleanâ the dead wood & malingerers who have been allowed to underperform at our club since Roy Evans left. At 20 years old Henderson is fantastically talented & is easily as good as the very similar Joe Cole at his very best and it is very likely that Hendersonâs arrival will now signal Coleâs departure. Tactical excellence doesnât come cheap but you have to be a quick thinker, technically excellent and tactically razor sharp to play at Liverpool and you can double those demands in a Kenny Dalglish Liverpool side. Even the most doubtful among you cannot deny that Henderson is all of those things and I can only imagine how well he is going to flourish within the attacking tactics of Dalglish who primarily lets defenders defend while his attackers attack. Henderson, as the world will see in this summerâs U21 tournament is technically and physically as good as anything Europe has to offer at his age. £20million is a lot of money to us men on the street but in the world of Football it is the equivalent of the price of a Mars Bar or a packet of Walkers Crisps. Ramires, a complete disaster of Poulsen proportions at Chelsea last season cost £16million while the workmanlike Milner cost Man City £25million, at only £20 million we have got a bargain in the already Premier League experienced Henderson and a very clear signal from Kenny that he is going for the Leagues throat next season with âATTACK !! ATTACK !! ATTACK !!â in mind. Make no mistake, every club that finished above us last season will be getting an uneasy feeling about this signing, a major psychological blow has been struck upon them just like when we rocked them with the double whammy of Carroll & Suarez and its razor sharp footballing minds like Gerrard, Suarez, Carroll and Henderson that are going to be slicing up every team in the Premier Leagueâs final third with their passing and movement. This is the dawn of Kenny Dalglishâs Liverpool that we are witnessing folks. A brand new side that does not contain any average attitudes or unambitious money grabbers. This is going to be a team of Winners and I have absolutely no doubt that this time next season we will have honest ambitions of going all the way in the Champions League. Liverpool Football Club believes Kenny Dalglish is the very best manager possible for us. Kenny Dalglish believes Liverpool Football Club is the very best club possible for him and together they have won everything there is to be won in the game. They are a match made in Footballing Heaven. Anything less than the best and you can be sure Kenny wonât be putting up with it and in a proven league performer like Jordan Henderson who at only 20 still has genuine hunger, ambition and has no lazy bad habits or attitude about being happy to pick up a wage with half assed effort Kenny has given us, the fans, a signal Loud & Clear that our years in the League Title Wilderness are over and that he is going to spend our money on the very best players for LFC he can get. Me too, I think Kenny D, is building for the future, not just the coming season, a lesson for Brucie to learn.
Think the scousers have had enough of the mancs over taking them, and are going all out to reverse it. But easier said than done, but fancy them to do well in the coming season, top four for sure..
It's surely not that easy, Tottenham were 4th last season and out of it this season, Man City 3rd this season and nowhere last season Chelsea had to sustain their high spending over several seasons. found this interesting;- - http://www.footballfancast.com/2011...st-premier-league-clubs-according-to-facebook
at only £20 million we have got a bargain in the already Premier League experienced Henderson and a very clear signal from Kenny that he is going for the Leagues throat next season with “ATTACK !! Not so sure about top four as there are six teams now paying big money for players. Top six yes. Above us Yes but Spurs. City, Arsenal. Chelsea and United will not be sitting back and letting them have it all their own way. Much as I like henderson I still think we got the better of the deal and I'm quite happy . As for Dagliesh. Great player Yes.Great guy yes. An Icon in Liverpool yes. But as a manager what has he actaully done?
I reckon they will be in the top 4. Suarez, Carroll, Kuyt, Gerrard, Henderson, Reina, With more to come, sounds pretty formidable to me...

Has the guy who wrote this article ever seen Henderson play, as good as anything in europe at his age !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Henderson is as good as Joe Cole was at his best !!!!!!!!!!!!! The fact is Henderson is a half decent player and MAY look good with better players around him but come on. But he has played over 70 games for us and has yet to have a stand out game. You saw in last nights game the vast majority of his passes are backward and he can,t tackle for toffee. In fact if you take away his very good level of energy and fitness he would realy struggle in the premiership.
Well spotted bruce-quinny-show. At 20 years old Henderson is fantastically talented & is easily as good as the very similar Joe Cole at his very best and it is very likely that Henderson’s arrival will now signal Cole’s departure Not sure i agree with this statement from the article also...
Agreed, he has POTENTIAL but look at it this way if we were to BUY him as he is now based upon his current performances what would we spend on him? Would any of us be happy if it was even rumoured we bid 10 million? Around 20 million for an academy player, that divides the fans as much as JH did? Good business I reckon.
check this out. Dalglish's Liverpool record so far is: 515 appearances, 172 goals, 307 as manager, 8 League Championships, 2 FA Cup wins, 3 European Cup wins, 4 League Cup wins, 1 European Super Cup win, and 5 Charity Shield wins. He also won a Football Writers` Footballer of the Year award, a PFA player of the year award, and three Manager of the Year awards.
You can't help thinking all these Liverpool fans see Henderson as a CM brimming with creative talent and goals...when he isn't that type of player at all. I think they might be a little disappointed come August...
IF Dalglish plays him in position, which I think he will, hendo will learn from Gerrard and Dalglish , and I believe we will see an excellent ambassador for our accademy, and our team, still think £20 mill too low, in these markets today, Bruce, or whoever should have waited for the bidding war, Blackburn just upped their game with Man U, and are going to be millions better off because of it. At the wheeling and dealing we are lightweights.
Yeh know what you mean...if we waited another season could be more like £30m. Or if he turned out that great, who knows maybe we could have had a more LT view and actually kept him...?
I and many more people have had long term views, hopes, dreams, unfortunately our past managers/ boards, indeed present dont seem to be on the same wavelength.
Hendersons departure signals the end of a dream that we could have 4 or 5 local players in our team. Colback, Henderson, R Noble 9I really want ot see this lad develop this season) were all capable young lads who could have formed a local heart for the next 5 or 6 years. That we have cashed in so readily, signal to me that Colback and Noble would be sold just as quick if the offers come in. Its a very disappointing end to what promised to be an Academy that produced the backbone of our club, in a lesser way that Man Utd did in the 80's, 90's and 2000's. 20m is a good deal (with add ons) but the trend it continues and the signal it has sent isnt yet evaluated. That will come with the players that now come in.
