This is part of what old Batesy had to say of his upcoming radio station
"Mr Bates said Radio Yorkshire – whose name is a play on Yorkshire Radio, the now-defunct station he launched while in charge at Leeds – would cover all sports. He added: “It will be interesting to give [BBC Radio Leeds football commentator] Adam Pope a run for his money.”

I for one, hope our new owners have the balls to tell Bates where to go if he looks to buy the rights to cover any of our matches. Imagine how frustrated the old bastard will be when we return to the PL and his poxy station won't have any coverage rights hopefully

Business is cruel. High likelihood they'll turn down any offers

Apparently Bates offered £2m for Yorkshire Radio as part of the TO negotiations, but got knocked back.

I wonder why they refused it? Can he do things with a new station that he could not had he bought the old one?

He wanted lutv and the club website as well. I'm assuming that it was an "all or nothing" deal.

My original idea of starting the thread is we can now sneer at the old bastard. He's a failed businessman, clutching at straws. He can harm us no more thanks to GFH

If you have no morals and a crook, you can. Remember he's a tax exile that defrauded the UK government. We could all live like that if we chose but the world wouldn't be a very nice place. Im in business and don't consider his kind any sort of success

I work for a very large multi-national high technology company, and can assure you they have no morals, and I very much doubt they pay their full wack of taxes either. As I said I wish I could fail to those financial heights, if I had never paid a penny in tax I would still be a long way short, and to be honest given the choice I would become a tax exile if I could afford it.

Fair point but to be honest I wouldn't swap my life for his. At least when I pop my clogs, most people will have decent stuff to say I hope. Don't think Id want to go through life knowing virtually anyone Id met and thousands I hadn't hated my guts

The morality of this world is what it is.

I prefer to be as honest as I can be and have less money.

Everyone makes their choices in life and some are comfortable leading crooked lives. Good luck to them and you, if you aspire to that.
