2.45 Newbury

Tistory will be a warm order for Nicky Henderson and certainly has the most potential as a hurdler. Red Devil Lads has shown glimpses but looks a longer term prospect, especially with improvement to come on spring ground, as most horses by Beneficial tend to show.

With a decent amount of cut at Newbury tomorrow however, I think there is a real each-way case to be made for FINE WORDS 12/1. The Alan King inmate has shown glimmers in each of his three races so far and looks set for continuous improvement.

He was over inadequate trips on first two starts- 2m1f at Sandown where was very green (A race that includes a full brother to MONO MAN called ACT FOUR- keeping my eye on how that progresses when it comes out next) and then made nice headway at Huntingdon before being outpaced and staying on same pace. He was then upped in trip at Kempton where he was a clear 2nd behind the very smart CAPTAIN CUTTER, keeping on well but on a track that just wasn't stiff enough to land a blow.

His form to me equates to an ability of around 120-125 and that makes him WAY overpriced to make the frame against Paul Nicholls' BROOMFIELD, (11/4), and whilst we know Tistory has the engine, his hurdling is still to be proven and he has to handle the slight step up in trip. Newbury is a good galloping track where you see similar types of horses really surprise a few- Chatterbox last year being just one example, and Fine Words looks a really interesting type of horse if he continues improvement on his second hurdles start. He jumped well last time, will make a chaser one day, and will like any test in the surface being by ALFLORA.

Good luck with any selections folks.

Throughout the day, can anyone shed light on the following horses:

ACT FOUR (brother to Mono Man- with Nicky Henderson)
MONKSLAND (not out yet this season and someone wafting fancy prices on Betfair for the World Hurde now- worrying)

I can tell anyone who is interested that LE VENT D'ANTAN will not be seen til the New Year as he finishes treatment for ulcers (tweeted by Liz Doyle).

I'll be stunned if the next Tottenham Hotspur manager is anyone other than MICHAEL LAUDRUP or FRANK DE BOER, by the way.

No need for final goodbyes mate - the forum is only as good or interesting as the people who post on it, and when regular and experienced people leave, it diminishes the forum as a whole.

Take a break if you feel the need Heis, but your input here will always be valued <ok>

And let's face it anything you put up will be more valid than any of mine :D

What's this all about? Get yourself down to Great Ayton and buy a few Petch's pork pies and have a Suggate's ice and you'll soon be chipper and ready to come back. It's bad enough the QPR contingent being flakey but we can't have the Teesside numbers under pressure.
Hear from you soon.

Morning, troops. If I was one of those Cockney chavs then I’d be advising the regular readers to have a ‘Barney Rubble’ on JOSSES HILL (1.10) and TISTORY (2.45) at Newbury. But as I’m not one of those chaps instead I’ll advise a double of the above mentioned beasts under the tutorage of Mr Henderson.

The former cost current connections £100,000 and was a nice winner of an Ascot bumper last time. The latter is an old fave of mine who unfortunately has been dealt a cruel blow by injury in the past. However, has always looked Classy with a capital ‘C’ and has always indicated that he has unlimited potential. Currently, the double pays around 4.25/1.

Good luck all.

Danbo <cheers>

All eye will be on Mr Henderson's Josses Hill in the 1.10 (especially as Sir Barney has it in his Rubble - btw, that's a phrase I'm also fond of using, but I'm about as far removed from a Cockney Chav as possible <laugh>) but I shall be having a sneaky little e/w on Andrew Balding's Communicator who brings some really smart flat form with him and should find conditions ideal.

In fact I will play an e/w Barney Rubble, coupling Communicator with Alan King's Fine Words in the 2.45. His second to Captain Cutter reads well and 20/1 re his chances looks tasty.
