Bit touchy about being an out of town Fulham fan aren't you mate. What's all that flannel about you being a Liverpool fan blah blah blah, I was referring to our out of town support not you out of town Fulham plastics. The word "domestically" was there for you to see but you jumped in feet first. Everything I said about London is "factually correct", try pulling your head out of your hoop and seeing the reality of what London is like behind its glossy public image, enjoy your journey down there.
Ah yes, I must be one of those glory-hunting Fulham fans, we all know how common they are. I'm comfortable with not living in Fulham, as I'm sure most of the population of the world is. I'm also comfortable to defer any 'fan credit' (which is apparently a thing), to those on this board and otherwise, who get to every game. As for the rest of the nonsense, you clearly haven't read what I wrote and bashed out a few of your favourite buzz-words. Oh, I will pick up on the "domestically" part. Again, you're wrong. On many levels. Anything else while I'm here, princess?
At last you've cracked a smile. I thought you meant it when you said "bye" in your last post. If your logic is that Liverpool have glory hunters where's the glory, our successes apart from the League Cup a couple of years ago can't be what reels them in can it?, and prior to our 2005 CL win our successes were sporadic, you'd be better looking to Salford or West London for glory hunters. Can we just agree to disagree?, I don't want you sneaking back when I'm not looking.
But you see, this is where we're having problems - not once have I said Liverpool have glory hunters! I put it down to the Liverpool glory hunters from the mid-late 80s whose kids now support Liverpool because their Dads do/did. I'd like to be serious for a moment, and say I personally don't give a toss where any club's supporters are from. It's good banter, but really it shouldn't matter. I doubt there's a single club in the world whose supporters are entirely made up of people from that town or city. Now that all the fun has been sucked out of this thread (you're welcome), I'd like to take this opportunity to say how ****ing annoying all the Arsenal fans around my area are. Anyone would think the FA give out trophies for not spending much money. If they did, Fulham would be sorted!
Ok mate I take your points on board, and I'll be down your way later and rob those pesky Arsenal fans hubcaps. Good luck for the rest of the season and have a merry Christmas Bidley.
They do Bidley - The Alan Hardaker Trophy which was the one our chum was talking about Stewart Downing getting at the Pool. Oh, hang on my bad, you said for not spending money.
Lol I would have been happy with no replies, I was just venting some frustration before my work place turned into a war zone!
Is that your rule to liking a club? That they get rid of good players? Is that why you support Fulham?
Haha - in my mind I have an image of you as long traveled fisherman who caught word of a teeming river and got there a day after all the fish were caught.
Full marks for using the word "anachronistic" on a football forum! You're wasted here! Had a good day at work (of which I can count on one hand) so my bollocks were feeling especially massive! Oh come on, we were getting along so well! I don't know if you know, but Suarez is seen as, how do I put it, a thoroughly unlikeable ****. It was a flippant comment anyway, don't take it to heart.
This entire thread seems to be fans making themselves feel better about their team's failings by saying they're 'better fans'. Fact is, if Fulham ever want to be successful then they'll need the type of fans Liverpool, United etc have. Of course, your club not being successful shouldn't be the reason you support them. On Everton fans, I live in Belfast and know 4 of them. And a Spurs fan. Two Leeds fans. But of course the majority support the bigger clubs, nearly always because their family do or always have. Who are you to tell them the feeling they have when their team scores is better or worse than yours? You're very lucky to have been born in an area with a Premier League club.
Although you're a bit late to the party, I agree, and what you're saying fits nicely with what I posted. Interestingly I work with two Leeds fans. There are by far and away more Arse fans than any other in my circles though.
I think this is a chicken and egg situation, to get those kind of fans Fulham will have to already be succesful - and then the heightened interest, prestige and most importantly revenue from ticketing and merchandising, can help to sustain the success.
At any rate I've no issue with Fulham or its fans... Your ground is one of my favourites, and I've always liked to see you doing well. Certainly hope you stay up. Like any club, some fans will leave a bad taste. Like anything in life really.
