Redknapp played Bale through the centre and on the wing in his last season , Redknapp done all the previous work in helping Bale progress but let's forget Bales performance under Redknapp as he was crap before Avb took over Last season Avb played Bale at left back, against QPR then after the game admitted it was a mistake. Funny how that isn't mentioned by the Avb support club.
Yeah you've made the Rose is better than Benny point before Tots but the fact is loaning out Benny with Rose as the only natural first team LB is a poor decision - made to look even worse now. IF Harry was still here, chances are Benny would still be first choice, which is the point I was getting at in terms of AVB getting rid of the first choices/ better players Harry had. For the record, Rose will probably get a good few England caps but I don't think he'll become a first choice player, Luke Shaw will if he continues to progress the way he has. He's arguably better than Rose right now and is 4 years younger.
Given the title of this thread I feel obliged to point out that a couple of years back I suggested that we could play Bale as a striker. This opinion was held in the same derision as my views on AVB
I know i have ,but all this Benny should come back get's to me,he's 29 now and found his true level which is Championship,we need players that are going to help us progress,Benny won't,he is yesterday's news
How many more wins would avb need to increase his win ratio by another 10% over 150 games. How many more wins would Harry need to increase his win ratio by another 10% over 300 games Answer is.... ****ed if I know!, but Harry would need to win twice as many to keep the stats between the two equal...or avb needed to win less games. Hopefully everyone gets this.
Come on Tots, surely you don't think Benny is Championship level? Even if he isn't better than Rose (debatable for me) he's still a Prem standard player. I wouldn't have a problem if he were still here and Rose was first choice but to get rid of him while leaving us short is what annoys me, especially as Rose is still inexperienced and fairly unproven himself. Working alongside and competing with Benny would probably be better for him, instead he's guaranteed a first team slot at the moment (which I never think is a good idea at a big club) as Fryers is still light years away from being a convincing first team LB, Naughton is woeful there and Jan hates it.
That's what i believe,Championship ,low Prem.Yes it was a mistake loaning him,but it will be a mistake bringing him back,he is not going to improve us
Complete rubbish,BAE is at least in the top 5-6 left backs in the premier league. I would say higher but I'm trying to give a more balanced view. You obviously have an issue with him and his personality which is why you can't give an objective view on him. One thing you can't argue with is that it was a stupid decision to loan him out given the complete lack of decent cover.
I've said before i don't have any issue with him except i don't think he is a top class full back that will help the team improve
Cleared things up: http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...-than-Harry-s-Not-close?p=5782058#post5782058 AVB categorically does not have a statistically significant higher proportion of matches won vs Harry.
As a Spurs fan of many years, each season I look forward to Spurs winning the league instead of dreaming of finishing 2nd,3rd or 4th!...amd maybe a European trophy won or the League or FA Cup won. Of course, most seasons these days we go down the drain. I would like to see a couple of players at Spurs who take no prisoners in defence of Spurs. They seem to finish up at Man U,Chelsea or Arsenal with good results. A Graham Roberts would definitely put us on the map......but he would probably not finish many games as refereeing is today!
