I thought not!! We got a phone call early Sept to tell us that our Daughter In Law was at deaths door and our Son and young grandchildren desperately needed help. A problem if they lived in Norwich but they are in Australia!!! Anyway off we went, Jenny has recovered enough to come home from Hospital and we are now home although Mrs 1950 is going back on Jan 4th. Apart from a couple of visits to the big City I have had no internet connection and have had to rely on BBC World News and newspapers for my information.
Before leaving I was being accused of being a misery guts drinking out of a half empty glass for suggesting, that in my long held view, success to a Club of our size was getting into the Premier League, continued success was staying there and over achieving was finishing above the bottom 5. I was also suggesting that we had to spend the money we did in the summer just to stand still. I come back to my team 14th in the league, 5 points off the bottom 3 and from what I have read on this board since getting back my glass is overflowing and I am suddenly challenging Supers as the most optimistic supporter on here!! What the hell is going on? I will pass comment on CH and other issues on the specific threads but come on fellas - look at the table and come back into the real world.
In passing - what has happened to my old adversary Supers? Has my old mate Redruth shown any sign of returning?

Welcome back midway, glad to hear that things are looking more promising family health wise, football comes a very poor second to all that!

No sign of Redruth unfortunately, Supers was posting till quite recently, I think he said he'd be away for a while due to family issues! As far as NCFC arguments, nobody has shot or strangled anyone yet, but never say never!

Welcome back 1950. Your slightly over-pessimistic realism identifies you on this board as a "Happy Clapper". A "Smug Know-all" kit is on it's way to you as a welcoming gift from the HC's honorary membership secretary (myself)! <ok>

South Australia in a small town on the peninsula just down from Victor Harbour. Jenny was originally taken to a Hospital in Victor Harbour and then transferred to Adelaide when she needed specialist treatment.

By definition, codgers are so attention hogging that if one of them goes AWOL the gap is simply filled by the others. A codger vacuum is against the Laws of Nature. <ok>
