    Hello Swans,

We play each other in the very near future so thought I'd start a relevant thread. We love Roberto so far as he's brought a whole new positive outlook on the club and we are playing some great stuff with results to back him up.

I realise there's a fair bit of animosity from your side (Well, from reading PlanetSwans, correct me if I'm wrong) towards Martinez, so I want to ask you what your favourites moments/aspects of his time with you and your worst moments/aspects.

    Please keep things civil :emoticon-0150-hands

Favourite time was when he stole the family silver and raped the club of everything he could , having no regard for the fragile future of the swans which was still finding its feet at championship level .

Stalking senior players like Leon Britton and Rangel was also a one of my favourite things that he did.

Total cnut of a bloke and as soon as a bigger fish comes for him then he will do exactly the same to Everton .

Ive enjoyed watching you this season, Judas is good at what he does and especially at bullshiting everyone into a positive mind set, i thank him for what he did for the Swans even though he never thanked us for taking him off the dole/non league football with chester and giving him one of the most sought after jobs in football, meaning a football league club to manage .

I will never forget what he almost destroyed with his greed but i can apreiciate how he has made a big difference to you guys, its great to see Everton start to beleive once again they have always been for me one of the true big 4 teams , the interesting question will be how you adapt when other teams give you special attention, a good example is the cardiff game, its what we also have a problem with but all in all id like to see Everton and Judas do well, its good for the Swans and itss good for the prem league .

If the Swans can supply 2 of the top 4 managers this season with Laudrup taking a top job in europe, how appealing a club would that make us for the next ambitious guy :)

    Good luck aafter Sunday <ok>

Without Martinez we would still be in the lower leagues. He brought in the style of play and laid the foundations for our success over the past 10 years. Yes he did raid our club, but he only done what the majority of managers do. Should Laudrup move on to another club in the summer, I'd expect Michu to go with him, and who knows possibly a few others, that's how football works.
However with regards to him going once a bigger club comes in, that should be expected as every manager should have the drive to be succesful.
A lot of people laughed when your chairman said Martinez will get Everton into the top 4. Well it looks like he could well do it in his first season there <ok>

To say we would stil be in the lower leagues without Martinez is doing the people that run our club a massive dis service .

He did good things but he did not go the same route as other managers when he left,to think that he did is just not true !

Bobby took everything he could giving no regard for the future of the very club that gave him a once in a lifetime chance .

Contrast with Rodgers who took Joe but also signed a deal knowing that it would give the club a windfall when he moved on , in fact in fairness to fostered he was a factor in us getting jonjo and he would probably look out for the swans in the future with similar things, Bobby was a total Cnut and gave us nothing back what so ever .

Of course you expect a few to go with the manager, but if he had his way he would have taken Brits,Rangel, bodde as well as Scotland and Gomez half a team and all the back room was a massive **** you to the swans so let's not forget that<ok>

Short memories with some , the man is very calculating and ambitious and in this game it means F**k you I'm alright regardless of the damage caused.

Good luck to Everton , hope to see you make the top 4 (not by gaining using any points against us though ), at the expense of Utd or Spurs .

That's another team we have trouble with and find hard to beat, Do anyone think we can win on Sun ,As it its an ex manager we are up against, we could only draw with Liverpool ,Don't think Shelve will give them 2 goals unless he as a soft spot for Mersey sides.

Best thing he did for us was start the Spanish link.
    Has served us very well.

Worst thing was bullshitting us that he would have to be kicked out and the leave for the first club that came in for him.

Blimey lads, you're all a tad bitter toward the man that gave you your style of football. Lighten up guys.

Interestingly, in that 'fall and rise' documentary Martinez states it was Flynn who instilled our style of play to the club.

Utmost respect for Everton FC and their fans too. Much more welcoming than Liverpool everything from the fans, club staff, stewards etc al are much friendlier. No time for Bobby bullshit dropped us right in I endorse everything Norway Jack says above. He would given half a chance piss off and leave Everton if a better offer came in. Good luck to EFC after Sunday

Good on him for pointing that out but most folk outside of Swansea think he was the architect of your style.

Fair enough but he helped you on the path to where you are now, are the same sentiments applicable to Rodgers and Sousa?

No because with Sousa the club were looking to get rid and I would say most of us weren't unhappy when he did go , although he did set us up defensively to play against.(fair play he has since spoken higher about the club ) it was like watching your lot play . Rodgers was always looking at a bigger club , if an offer had come he's have been off but he made no promises to us so when he did although a surprise probably not as big as it could have been.

I seem to recall Martinez being part of the team that beat Hull and enabled The Club to retain it's League status.

He subsequently became the Manager, and did rather well,if my memory serves me correct.

As a successful Manager, he was always going to attract attention from bigger Clubs/those in higher Leagues, and invariably move on.

It shouldn't have come as a surprise to anyone when he left to join Wigan, especially when you take into account his previous connections with them and their owner.

A big disappointment, perhaps, but.hey,to hang him out to dry because of a few words, viz, that he would never leave,is to behave in a rather juvenile manner.

When Managers move on they invariably take players and staff with them.

    Rodgers did the same.

Laudrup will possibly do likewise,or be the catalyst for some players he brought to Swansea leaving for pastures new.

Presumably Laudrup will then become a Danish ****,or something similar, soon after his departure, and also become a regular target for the complainers.

Swansea City F.C. has been fortunate to have the likes of Martinez,Rodgers,Laudrup, and Sousa to carry on the work of their predecessors, and perhaps followers of the team who can see little goodness in them, should stop behaving like scorned teenagers, and grow the **** up.

    Interesting opinions.

I never quite understood the level of resentment towards him until reading this.

I must say he's shocked me tbh. I simply didn't rate him at Wigan, as despite the cup win I thought they were largely awful under his guidance. However, he's made me eat my words so far, as he's not put a foot wrong at Everton & we're playing some great football.

Should be a good game on Sunday, as we'll both get it down & play.

I quite like the guy and think we owe him a lot. When anyone leaves who is doing well at the club there is always resentment which in my opinion shouldn't be the case.

If there's anything good from Martinez leaving (and there are a few) it's made the acceptance of managers/players leaving easier . this club in 10 years (since Cusacks reign )have had 9 managers, a bit of stability would be nice as the board cannot (can they ?) keep finding good mangers .I wouldn't boo anyone either players or manger but if they're not with us then their against us imo.

"The level of resentment towards him",and Rodgers,is quite embarrassing, and is probably jealousy driven.
