You have won it but your arguement on the fee is incorrect.I was right in saying however that Blackburn would and have demanded more money. However bargaining is allowed by law,and Man United have bargained and Blackburn have accepted,so that its.I have no qualms with that. However its going to cost United and Ferguson more than they initially thought which was the basis for my debate.
http://www.click-manchester.com/spo...iverpool,-arsenal-interest-and-legal-row.html You've found out for the 2nd time tonight.^^^^^^^^^^^^^ KPR was correct after he was called fit to burn by the mancunian financial wizards earlier today.
ah yes, a very reliable source you have used..... or not. the only solid facts we have are his agents comments.
I'd still take them with a pinch of salt though, with the state of football these days. Just wait until you seem him shaking hands with Sir Alex in a United shirt. Then the deal is done. But saying that, I do think United will get Jones for 16 million or whatever the actual offered sum was.
Are the majority of United posters on this thread just being stupid? NOBODY posting here has seen the wording of the clause and therefore all comments about it are ill-informed. It may well be that this matter ends up in the High Court for a judicial ruling before any transfer can be made.
Where it got complicated and I pointed out this already,is that 3 clubs met Blackburns fee,not just one,and two of which offered more. However the player then decides which club he wants to join.Fair enough He chose Man United. However the selling club(Blackburn) decided they wanted more than what the minimum was,and they have every right to demand it.Man United bargained and they rose the fee.So the deal is finalised as Blackburn are now happy. I was never disputing that he was going to join anyone except United,However it was not going to be for £16.5 million.
A quick read of the article says United offered more to basically stop the owners from accusing them of tapping up the player, as they seemed to know details of his contract before any permission was given to speak to him. "The only way United could have known this is if Rovers had told them – and sources insist they didn’t – or if somebody else told them when they shouldn’t have done so under the letter of the transfer laws. This fact, as well as Liverpool’s offer of £22m, gave Rovers some traction in negotiations. Well-placed senior sources in India have made it clear that a tapping-up complaint against Manchester United was an option open to them. If Manchester United felt they were on solid ground with their £16.5m deal and no more, that’s what they’d be paying. But they’re not paying that. That’s why the deal has been agreed at £20.5m. They are paying more to make the deal happen now.”
No, the club decided that £80m was good business especially as Ronaldo wanted to leave, a completely different situation. We will have to wait and see how much the transfer goes through for (assuming it goes ahead) but I would be surprised if it's more than the £16m/£16.5m that Man Utd originally offered otherwise the clause in his contract will be rendered pointless.
Well then going by that all Liverpool fans commenting on this are also being stupid as they haven't seen the clause either
I'm sorry KPR but if Man Utd's offer of £16.5m met the buy out clause then Blackburn can't demand more money they have no option but to accept and let the transfer go through. That's how a buy out clause works. The only reason why Man Utd may have to cough up more money is the reason that Suarez's Tezzies has just posted (to avoid being accused of tapping up).
4 clubs bid and all were accepted so this bullshit about tapping up is hilarious. Blackburn rovers are seriously thick as ****. Im gonna ring my mate tomorrow and laugh at him for being a blackburn fan. What a ****ing ******.
They could try and claim that Man Utd had inside information on the buyout clause and claim that this is in some way tapping up (though I'm not sure how it is).
So in essence he. Either signs for utd for the original bid Signs for us for an improved bid Signs for utd for a bid that matches ours The transfer clause goes before a judge to decide Theres a clause within the clause that says hes not going anywhere Or?
He'll sign for United for £20M ish. He won't sign for us, he's already agreed personal terms with the mancs and wants to go there. These arguments are pointless. There's only one place he's going. The only question is how much, and to be honest I wouldn't believe a word the gutter press print. Experience as Liverpool fans should tell us that.
Agreed, but its MUFC Jimbo and U19R that are squabbling between themselves over "tapping up",once they agree to agree thats the whole kit and caboodle settled.
When you typed this reply it was aimed at MUFC Jimbo. So you and him were squabbling,or have you got the memory capacity of a goldfish?
