Welcome to the board, and I apologise if what follows in the next few hours is an utter disgrace, some people can get quite wound up on here! I agree that Schumacher really showed why he is still behind the wheel today. Whilst I'll never fully support him after his history, I think that performance shows he can still mix it with the best of them.

But, as you say, Alonso was on the racing line. The line he takes into the corner is pretty much his perogative but he allowed Button room and got himself ahead. He didn't cut across Button, he made for the apex of the corner while he was ahead. It is always the duty of the overtaking driver to ensure the overtake is made without collision, he didn't do that and again it is the defending driver that has paid the price. where is the justice in that?

Thanks for the welcome. And I don't think you can do live betting for f1 yet. Shame. His odds would have been something like 5000/1

Despite the contacts... I'd call that Jensons finest victory. Great drive.

Button shouldnt get a penalty, he clipped the apex and understeered into Alonso. Alonso was just seriously unlucky.

I thought Alonso was going to cut the corner, the whole McLaren was along side but he seemed to turn in with the hope that Button could make a tighter line.

Great drive from Jenson today. It was such an exciting race I'm having to watch the whole thing again on the red button. Button put in a world champion's drive, and to get the win right at the death is the cherry on top.

I know lots of people will talk about the Alonso contact, but as far as I could see Button was on the inside and level. I'm not sure that Button could possibly get a penalty in that situation.

If people are saying the Button/Alonso contact deserved a penalty then we may as well make F1 a no contact sport, they were level going into the corner on the slippery conditions and made contact, Alonso was unlucky to get beached, Button was unlucky to get a puncture. I am a fan of both Alonso and Button so there is no bias here, it was 100% a racing incident.

I do not think anyone can legitimately take anything away from Button today he was supreme, on older tyres and still about 2 secs quicker that anyone else, that was one of the best victories and drives I have ever seen.

There's something about Jenson this season, he's far more aggressive than I think I've ever seen him, I think the stewards have been very harsh in their giving of penalties for almost anything, so fingers crossed he doesn't get one. Fantastic drive, fantastic race, and did you know Hurruh is the same backwards?
