Apparantly Jay has already been back in touch with the club and the club rejected his contract demands....

Not surprised HT. If the guy would come down from cloud 9 and realise what he has here coupled with some realistic proposals then it could be game on again next season.

Mind you comparing what he did second half of the season compared to the first I bet he is sat by his phone all day waiting for THE call............... but alas it has not come yet.

While his time with us has been pretty problem free he still has his previous disruptive reputation and that plus his lower second half performance has probably put off a lot of potential suitors.

Betty and the word loyalty in the same article that must be a typo surely, if swansea were the only club in for him i am sure he would say that he was misquoted in that interview

To be honest guys, he did have a great season, or should that be half a season. But not sure he would be the one for me. On the subject of loyalty to Cardiff, can someone remind me why he has dumped you, refused a new contract and looking for a new club. Loyalty goes both ways and it seems Cardiff have shown more to hime than the other way. He neds to remeber and learn from a few of ours that the grass is always not greener.

I have to agree with our two cousins above where Jay is concerned. Sincerity didn't jump out from JB's comments at me. No doubting he had his most consistent run of seasons as a Bluebird but 'pay me more money and I'll stay' is loyalty I can do without.

Totally agree, a contract has been sitting on the table for all of last season, and he was just weighing his options with this season's outcome. Loyalty to Cardiff? I don't see any and the jacks would be right to comment on this as they've had a similar outcome from a Mr Pratley.<ok>

mmmm... fraid I am a bit of a cynic, and take any proclamation of loyalty from a footballer towards a club with the smallest pinch of salt.

I wish these players would just move on and find their new club before opening their mouths.

Yes, likelihood is Jay won't be joining Swansea, but if they waved a huge chunk of money at him and no other premiership club were interested, can he honestly say his loyalty for cardiff would be enogh to stop him?
I just wish players would be honest with themselves and us. We know its just a job, we know that for the clear majority of players the club doesnt mean a fraction of what it does to us, its just a bit insulting when players (current players and those who have left) make comments that quite blatantly aren't true. Slightly extreme view in this particular incident I agree, but as a genreal point it stands. Nothing annoys me more about footballers than badge kissing. When you go through relegation with a team, sit on the bench for half a season and stay with the club long enough to enjoy success, you have earnt the right to kiss the badge and tell the world you are loyal to a club. Until then, just don't bother!

    Rant over!

If Betty is so loyal to Cardiff then why isn't he with the club any longer? Not the brightest is he ?
