    Sorry to hear that mate.

And Tash, I'm sympathetic but haway man. You're saying things like "If so how long did it take you to get over it?" and "share with me their experiences with things like this, and how they managed to get over it". You're acting like someone has died. Pain is pain and it's horrible, but it's nothing like when you have a loved one who is on the verge of death. Really, I know the sounds must have been awful, but it could have been a LOT worse.

Tash, I think http://wiki.answers.com might be a better option in future like. Fortunately I'm man enough to weep like a bitch when anything bad happens so I dunno what you're feeling. Soz

Really not the place to post it Tash, if you'd wanted to discuss it with strangers you should have put it on the General Chat page. Bit odd to talk about it on a chat program though. You'd have felt better if you'd rang family and friends up to talk personally about it.

I do wish your mum a speedy recovery though.

Some people are complete ****s here. Irrespective of how you feel about Tash, these comments are not warranted.

Back on topic. To be honest I am as useful as the word no is in preventing a rape off of Titus Bramble but all I can say is march onwards and try to not let it get you down. Do things to take your mind off it

Once, my lass stubbed her toe and she screamed really loudly and swore the house down. I wasn't upset for her and it wasn't funny so I didn't laugh either. I actually thought it was a massive overreaction so I punched her right in the throat.

Seems harsh in retrospect but sometimes you've just gotta do what feels right at the time.

I am incredibly sorry to hear that you went through that. Nobody should ever feel that sort of pain. Things like this bring everything into perspective. I hope your wife and yourself are coping.
