Has something ever upset so much that you can't cry or react emotionally to it?

  1. My mam, she's just seriously hurt her back. I don't know what happened to her, but just the sound of her screaming and crying in pain...

...has really just stunned and upset me so much that i can't even cry or react to it.

Has anything like this ever happened to you with a loved one?

If so how long did it take you to get over it? because i don't think i'll ever be able to get the noise out of my head. It's just the most terrifying and upsetting noise i've ever heard coming from a person.

My mam was taken to A&E over 2 hours ago and i've just managed to take in what i've seen and heard tonight.

I've never been more upset, but i can't even cry.

Very sorry to hear that , mate. Hope she'll be fine.

Had my dad collapse in front of me once as he has heart problems. Took me a few days to get over that.

Wish her a speedy recovery <ok>

Not to be rude like but why would you think posting this on a football forum would help you get over it? That isn't even mocking you I'm genuinely questioning it because personally I'd feel weird sharing that with strangers. Good luck to you and your ma though

  9. Neg rep me, get me banned for an off topic article i don't care. Call me an attention seeker, i just hope there are a few individuals that can share with me their experiences with things like this, and how they managed to get over it.

I wish her a speedy recovery tash. When my gran died I couldn't react for a couple of days, but it's not entirely unnatural thing to happen.

    As I said, speedy recovery <ok> :)

You make some very bizarre threads HMT. You not got any close mates which you can discuss this sort of thing with? Seems overly sensitive for a random football forum.

Anyway, no that hasn't happened to me, but you'll get over it. If people eventually get used to the death of loved ones, then I'm sure you'll get over your mam hurting her back. As time goes by, memories become much, much less vivid.

PS: As people have said already, it's just shock. That's what it does to you.

Yeah, but if you feel the need to tallk about them then what's wrong with that. Tash recognises he's not the only one as he's asking for help from those with similar experiences

  20. To answer you question, since i left school, most of the mates i had moved away to Universities and we lost touch, and the job i had since i left sixth form, i didn't get on with the other people my age, so i guess i don't have close friends to talk to about this, but i know there are quite a few decent individuals on this forum, and there are a wide range of age groups, younguns and experienced folk, who could perhaps give me some quick help on this matter.

Thanks for the comment <ok> And i hope this experience fades away quicly.
