Quite right Stereo. I have had a quick look at their record and to me it like the equivalent of playing Everton over two legs. Both have had success at European and domestic levels. Neither would be considered in the "Top Four" in their home country. Both are having extremely good seasons. Both have Spanish managers! Would we fancy our chances against Everton over two legs? Of course we would. Why not? We would be underdogs but we would certainly say we had a chance. The big query for me is whether we can handle the hostile atmosphere of playing a huge game in front of 70,000 Italians in the second leg. To me that would be the playground of warriors such as Roy Keane and Patrick Viera (something that Ivor has been touching on recently). I don't think we have those type of players in our squad. Additionally, to be successful in Europe you have to be cynical in all aspects of play, including how you manage the referee. I don't think we are that type of Club - we are a bit naïve in that respect. Whatever happens it is going to be a wonderful experience for everyone associated with our Club. For some of our players it will be a huge learning curve. For our fans it HAS to be a case of avoiding the stony silent embarrassment in which the Valencia match was played - that was totally unacceptable from a Swansea City crowd. This will be a totally different scenario. Knock out football, albeit a first leg. Lets hope for a White hot atmosphere at The Liberty. UP THE JACKS!
...but I finally fancy us to beat Everton this weekend. It was Evertons style that we couldn't handle - and that was down to Moyes. Now they play differently I feel we have a better chance.
More open game with both sides pushing on , Everton area different animal now so they'll be a lot of chances both ways just hope we bury ours
They play our sort of football but with far more pace and power. I can't tell you how much I hope I'm wrong but there is real potential for us to get a hiding if we don't improve on recent performances. Would be delighted with a draw.
This is our problem and it has been for quite some time now, Everton are playing some of the best football in the premiership atm but i'm hoping they won't have the possession they are use to having because we certainly wont. We have a very poor record against them and as a believer of the law of averages then it's about time we came out on top for a change. Bony and michu must start and are the key to beating them if they get the service they need...and if they do then we can get something from what will be a 100 mile an hour game...
Start fast I say. Last season at the Liberty we didn't get out of our half for the first 20 minutes. We weren't **** they were just excellent
Napoli currently drawing 1-1 in Serie A with Cagliari - http://www.sportinglife.com/football/live/match-stats/302924/cagliari-v-napoli ...and playing 4-4-2 apparently
