Based on Saturday's result and the statement from Steve Lansdown the anger on this site is definitely at an all time high. Why are we supporters of a football club that goes from one crisis to the next with barely a whimper and certainly no plan as to how to extricate ourselves from the cesspool of failure. I won't add anything else to my thread as right now I am at my lowest level of thinking, and anger, regarding Bristol City when there are more important things in life. How do the board expect the supporters to sit back and listen to more rubbish from the top?
Lansdown lives in a bubble of his own making. Cosseted by riches and a lifestyle that most of us can only dream about, although I'm sure it was all well earned via hard work. But he is out of touch with reality and with the feelings of the average supporter, he has no clue about football, and is now looking to make excuses for mistakes he has made. Sorry Steve, you are still holding the babby and it appears to have soiled itself at both ends so clean it up or give it to someone else !!!!
You know that feeling on a Monday morning, and Your work colleagues mention that you have lost again- So you make excuses and then those excuses get weaker and weaker etc--- well, now I am at the point where I don't defend it any longer and go about with a resigned acceptance that this is another season, that I will soon be glad to see the back of- Very depressing times. League 2 does seem very likely.
If Lansdown leaves who are we going to blame then? He sacks the managers that the fans want sacked, he puts money into the club like no one else has. He's getting us a redeveloped AG or even a sparkly new stadium. He made some mistakes along the way granted, but who on here has never made any mistakes? We lost Saturday because we was ****e, in the first half. The second half last 20-30 minutes I thought we looked entertaining. Cotterill even said that's how he wants us to start the game not just do it for 20 minutes. I thought the first half we looked nervous and it showed. We went down inside 2 minutes and didn't recover well. When he ask us to change our colours and name, then I can expect to such venom. At the moment I see a man that came in promised the earth and made some mistakes. Why don't we just let them get on with it without us moaning every day. All I see is supporters refusing to go, and saying they ain't going till it gets better! That's a good idea let's boycott the games and they have no income so we can then moan they ain't spending their dwindling income correct. In 2 weeks time there will be some saying, come on Steve buy us this player or that one. We have 26 games to go and 5 points from safety, so no we ain't relegated. So let's do OUR job and support the team.
I work for the QPR chairmen, are the fans calling for his head because they spent a fortune and got relegated? Got to be honest though, he is good to work for.
'We lost Saturday because we was ****e, in the first half' - Oh RODney you plonker. So it was nothing to do with our set up and players out of postion. 'The second half last 20-30 minutes I thought we looked entertaining' - Entertaining, what are you on ? It only got better as Rotherham,2-0 up, sat back to play out time. You're not telling me the introduction of Shorey for Cunningham changed the game - are you ? 'Cotterill even said.......' fu*k me RODney, stick to the concrete.
Oi Thicko have you worked out which is thicker wood or concrete? You do realise don't you with that comment everyone knows you're clown
what game you watching shorey replaced bryan we played better near the end because he put reid and burns on and they played it more quickly , also shorey allowed cunningham to get forward more
"I wondered if we would be stifled in our play. By that, don't mean being stifled by the opposition, but stifled by ourselves. We have to let the shackles go and relax a bit, like we did late in the game." Get used to this sort of gibberish. The man who can say nothing in 50 words or (usually) more. Perhaps the players will be motivated by all the meaningless drivel and generalities; get ready for more empty phrases such as "dust ourselves down", "go again", "bounce back", "give it our best shot". Maybe the squad could play Cotterill bingo as they'll probably hear the whole set before the year is out. The Cliché King is alive and well.
Will take SC "gibberish" over SOD's emotionally stunted boring quiet crap any day of the week. Can't believe there are "fans" already moaning about the manager.....
Like Shiny said, I'd rather listen to Coterill so called Cliches then sods mumbling, stumbling, grunting quiet crap for 30 minutes any day of the week Nor will Coterill wave his hands about like a raving lunatic when asked a simple question which required a simple answer If coterill can get more than 3 wins in 27 he's a better manager than SOD for this club.
Once again I find myself agreeing with Redordead. Two games and already some want the managers head? what happened to the 10 games before judging. OK so the guy has been brought in to keep us in the league and hopefully improve the team. He has already said that he wants players in come January. That should satisfy those that constantly complain about that player and this. He also wants the game played at a faster tempo, that should satisfy those peeded off with SODs passing game, but that ain't gonna happen straight away as the players will have to change their way of playing and he does have some weird and wonderful sayings is that not better than the last mogadon incumbent. Certainly more understandable that that Hollowhead that quite a few on here wanted as manager and before anybody says Hollowhead win 37.45% SC 40.73% so which would have been the biggest gamble?
2 games, 1 win, 1 defeat, 3 goals for, 3 goals against, no mumbling, no grumbling, a smile, enthusiasm, honest answers, no hiding behind technicalities, trial and error without the excuses, what's the guy done wrong, except try.. Christ let's give him a chance..
Cotts needs time and that extends past the end of this season, whatever that may bring I'd much rather have him than Mr Dull
My thread was never about getting rid of Cotterill because I think he, as some previous, has taken over a poisoned chalice created by our board. Those who want him out already are way off the mark and if City are to gain any respect in the footballing world then our manager has to have a reasonable time to turn our ship around. He has inherited a bunch of players who, for some unfathomable reason, either don't want to play or even worse can't play. We are in an extremely serious predicament and only positive actions and positive results coupled with team improvements will save the day. The kind of drivel being dished up by the people who should have sorted this mess out a long time ago can never help the situation. Whether the board are aware of it or not they need the backing of the supporters who have been the forgotten ingredient in the mix that can return us to respectability. It's called customer service and you ignore it at your peril, and excuses or blaming others will never work in any business.
Oh no? Tell that to our gas companies; electricity companies; bankers; waxy-faced, Old Etonian Prime Minister David Cameron...
