With Vidic playing less this season and can't play 2 games in a week, who do you think should be our captain ? I would give the armband to Jones or Evans.

Rooney is Moyes lifeline and beast player, so Rooney would get the nod.

Moyes won't let him and he's not in demand from top top top clubs like Suarez is.

Its better for Utd if he's not in demand isn't it?

It means he'll stay for the rest of his career and retire at 40+ like Giggsy?

About the only candidate, when you look around the team we don`t have a great many who show any kind of leadership, you don`t really see anyone trying to get the team going or telling players where they should be if anyone Evans seems to have taken this role in defence and at least looks to make his voice heard.

Ok Diego wind ups aside and on topic, in answer to the op I stand by my points about Rooney being named captain and the reasons for it, he's by far your best player and has/will pull you through this sticky spot.

Can't believe no one has suggested the most obvious candidate.

By far our best player i agree but not sure he has the correct leadership qualities. He tends to sulk when things aren`t going right (a bit like Giggs) and yes, he can take a game by the scruff and make things happen but he doesn`t get the rest of the team going. People like Kean and Robson used to clap their hands, pump their fist and urge the team on, that is the type of captain we need now when times are hard.

think Fletcher is the kind your talking about but there's no guarantee his terrible problem won't kick off again, what about Jones?

I wouldnt give than bungling fool the armband. I don't want him shouting , his face he pulls when he is shouting scares my kids. Give it to Rooney, it seems to tame his remedial qualities a bit

Fletch and Jones are both decent calls but i haven`t seen Jones being very verbal yet, maybe he needs a bit more time to feel as if he belongs in the first team. As i said earlier, Evo is not scared of making his feelings known on the pitch and could be the way to go.
