At the racestart, in the first corner, Lewis pushed Webber the same way as Button pushed Alonso, could be a racing incident, but it was certainly under investigation and since Lewis was caught out they didn't give him a penalty. As an Alonso supporter I wait for the stewards decision
In the defense of Jenson i would like to add that even if he is found guilty for the Alonso crash the win should not be stripped from him because: 1) it nearly wrecked his own race. It put him 21st and when the saftey car went in he was still 2 seconds of Karth. 2) It would damage the sport. Nobody wants to see the winner decided in the stewards room. If they find him guilty of the crash it should be a grid penalty for Europe.
All this sounds strangley like 2008 with people saying the sport has been ruined. Amazing what impartiality can do. As has been pointed out, it was very similar to Lewis on Webber and how many people called THAT a simple racing incident?
Hamilton was NOT punished for the Webber crash. So Button should not be punished for the Alonso crash. Consistancy.
I need to watch it (yet) again then. I didn't think Alonso was anywhere near heading for the apex. He braked way too late. But I'll take another look.
It was completely different to the Webber-Lewis one because Webber was well ahead going into the corner and Lewis dived up the inside. Alonso and Button were wheel to wheel and Alonso dived around the outside. They should show some footage from Jenson's on board (if it wasn't damaged by all the impacts) to clear it up.
To be fair, Hamilton wasn't penalised because he'd already retired by that point. It wasn't serious enough to warrant a grid drop next time out.
So how is it serious enough to drop Button from 1st to 5th (20 second penalty) Remember Button suffered in that incident by getting a puncture.
Petulance. He's a bad loser. I'm sure some people admire that (show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser, etc.) but I don't. The spectators probably didn't appreciate it either.
That was McLaren? Pretty out of order, just celebrate the win. Pathetic that they'd just won a classic race and were more concerned with sticking the boot into a rival. Petulance? He was very dignified after the race, congratulated Button on the win unless there was something I missed. He obviously wasn't grinning from ear to ear because he'd just led 69.5 laps of a 70 lap race and not picked up the win.
I know, but my point is, both Lewis and Jenson were unable to turn in without hitting the car next to them, and I don't think Webber closed the door on that one or even more , neither did Alonso , he was giving Button enough space to make it around, yet behind him, but like I said, I 'll wait for the stewards decision
McLaren have always had a chip on their shoulder regarding vettel, yet I don't see the same coming from the Red Bull side. So what if Vettel was a bit miffed? the guy lead from the start to almost the finish and for once got beaten fair and square. Seb and Jenson are close mates anyway he's probably more ****ed off that he messed up rather than Jenson beating him.
