To answer the original topic - a new manager would: Buy a CB and a LB in January. Sell some deadwood and those that clearly have shown their poor attitude. As for the style of play - the new manager would: Keep it simple - right footed winger on the right and left footer on the left. Switch the formation to one our players are more suited to. Stop changing the team every match. We have the squad - it's just a case of putting all the jigsaw pieces together in the right order.
If I ever play you on Fifa, I'll watch out! My favourite formation is that 4411, I like the balance and quick attacks through the wings that happened under Redknapp. We're all assuming Avb is gone, or about to, so new manager, new ideas and if he gets a response that AVB never did then even the most ardent supporter of Avb will have to admit in the end he was clueless.
Apart from putting up one or two midfielders for sale,. I'd encouraging the new manager to demand a refund on Soldado from Valencia. People are still making excuses for him but I just don't see what he brings to the game here in the EPL. He offers nothing to justify 25million pounds of Premiership money... The new manager should give him back to Valencia before its too late...off-load him now, before he's completely dead wood... 4 goals from 13 games. You never know, we might get 12 million for him as a good will gesture.. Anyway, which ever way you look at it, a capable striker is going to be a basic requirement for any incoming manager.
The new manager needs to bin off the Europa ASAP whilst we're still in with a chance of competing for top 4. The new manager needs to find his best 11 players and not chop and change it so much. We need consistency. The new manager needs to sell some dead wood in jan. The new manager needs to buy another striker and a LB in jan.
Just a couple of points - all our players can pass pretty well. Quick killer passes come from understanding each other which is a matter of time not skill. I agree we are not creative but I can't see how playing an extra striker makes that better. It just leaves two guys up front who never get the ball and weaknesses elsewhere. Surely Dawson's main weakness is people running at him. Indeed the whole point of the AVB system is to stop that happening. Instead it gives goals away when teams get the time and have the skill to play killer through balls. The only issue is whether the advantages overcome the disadvantages.
Benny and Adebayor come across as self obsessed Disrespectful clowns in that pic considering when it was posted. I know Benny is different in that he doesn't pretend he loves football or the club and it's just a job to him but it's still not helping the situation and it's best they both moved on.
2 comments on that. 1. we havent got a cat in hell's chance of top 4. 2. i thought we'd got rid of all the deadwood ? which is the deadwood now ?
