What's wrong with the location,on the motorway, plenty hotels and pubs. Train link wouldn't go amiss think that was considered some time ago.
It's a nightmare to get from the north and east of the city. I got back from Blackburn and Donny quicker than I do from ER.
If we wanted to expand there's no room. It's stuck n the edge of an industrial estate. The Motorway round Leeds City center is terrible. The amount of times your stuck in a traffic jam or you basically get lost. The M62 is a bit of a trek to get to from the stadium. One small problem on Dewsbury Road by The White Rose Center and your stuck in traffic for an hour. There's no decent rail access to stadium something that should have been looked at.
Does anybody remember where we were going to go when they were talking about a new stadium 12 years ago?
Yes. Just off the then new bit of the M1 just down towards the city from Thorpe Park. Excellent location, loads of room and great links.
I'm sure there's life in the old ground yet, and potential to increase capacity to 50,000. As for the location, I'm back on the motorway south within 20 minutes of the game ending. Unlike Reading, 20 minutes walk to the car, then 45 minutes queuing up to get out of the £8 a time car park. Charlton was easier to get away, but only because I parked (illegally) in Makro car park reserved for their customers. All in all we haven't got it too bad with our ground compared to other clubs. History and atmosphere counts for a lot more than 10,000 extra seats in a flat pack.
Our ground can be fixed. For much less than the cost of a new stadium. I'm surprised how many people would be willing to sell out for a sniff at success that would be hollow.
Nothing wrong with moving to Dublin despite what Gh says. I see England struggling just a little at the rounders over in OZ
Here's a question, If we had to change our name to Leeds Red Bulls, but were given 25m to invest on players, what would you say?
No, not even for £250m. We'd still have less money than Man City and Chelski anyway. Let's build it up slowly but surely, and remain Leeds United
yes your right, knock down the west stand and replace with another east type stand.Would give us close to 50,000 seats.
