Ahh... Glad I didn't waste my time reading his posts then. Idiot. Lost a good mate at hillsborough... Hope noone our side lowered themselves and mentioned Munich.
KPR It looks like you have been proved right. http://www.click-manchester.com/spo...iverpool,-arsenal-interest-and-legal-row.html
In a text he said: “I expect the deal to be formally announced in the next 48 hours. The buy-out clause put in by BRFC cannot be challenged.” He added that Jones was “given permission by BRFC to speak to four clubs who met the buy-out clause and he opted for MUFC. It would make no difference to the player if LFC offered more money at this stage. He has joined United in the best interest of his career.” That is the only quote of any significance, the rest of the article relates to 'sources' . It is still not clear what is happening. In either case that doesn't prove KPR right as his arguement was that it wasn't a minium release clause but a clause that allowed us to talk to him which is incorrect. If we have paid more it is due to United being aware of information they shouldn't have been. Therefore both sides were correct in one sense - United fans are the minimum fee and KPR and others re raising the fee
Dont worry about Page Moss kopite. He doesnt know any better Anyway the bit you have quoted is what I have posted several times today and its direct from his agent....a man who has seen the contract. there is no bidding war as we already won.
U19R Im not disputing that the kid was always going to be united's player. But earlier today KPR stated that united will more than likely have to cough up another 3 or 4 mil,and it looks like those that doubted him were wrong.
Thats why I said KPR and others may be partly right , ie United may paying more, but there reasoning behind the increased price is completely wrong - if that story is to be believed.
If we do pay extra it will be in add ons and theres nothing to suggest they were not already part of the deal anyway as well, its often the case with young english players.
Its the legally binding figure as stated in his contract, a figure that his own agent has confirmed as being there. So yeh, its pretty solid.
Man United have got him for 16.5 mill. The stupid Indian chicken owners can't take it and are trying to find some way of twisting the wording. Nobody is having any of it and the deal will go through as planned because United have offered the amount in the buyout clause in his contract. The medical is done and personal terms are agreed, the only thing holding this deal up is the chicken owners are trying to get more cash. He will be confirmed as a signing the end of Monday.
Liverpool can offer £500bn, it will make no difference to Man Utd's bid if their £16m offer has triggered the release clause in his contract. Man Utd won't have to raise their bid by a single penny as Blackburn have to accept offers of £16m for Phil Jones otherwise they are breaking the rules of their contract with the player.
Why would Man Utd have to cough up anymore money if their original offer has met the release clause in his contract? Do Liverpool fans not understand how a release clause works?
Sorry, but that's clearly not the case at all. The meeting the release clause means the team can speak to the player, and his current team are obliged to accept the offer. However, in no way do they HAVE to accept it legally. If you read current reports you'll see that Blackburn are looking to keep the player, or if not, start a bidding war to get the highest price. 'A source close to Rovers said. ‘United can’t do what they want in this case. Jones is a Blackburn player and while there is a clause that could mean he leaves, it’s far from the straightforward issue everyone assumes it to be.’ Jones signed a United shirt for fans while training with England’s Under-21s in Denmark on Friday and, along with his representatives and United, had thought the transfer was a formality. The player wants to join United but it is not known whether he has even been informed yet that Liverpool have made a bigger offer. A major headache for United is in the interpretation of the release clause in Jones’s contract. They triggered it with their £16.5m offer and were allowed to talk to the player as a result. But Rovers have taken legal advice and insist the clause does not force them to sell to the first club to meet the figure.' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2002598/Manchester-Uniteds-Phil-Jones-bid-tatters-Blackburn-wont-bullied-Liverpool-launch-22m-swoop.html
MUFC Jimbo Every release clause is not the same just as every contract for every player is not the same.
A release clause means that any offer that meets that clause has to be accepted. The Blackburn owners are trying to get more money but they won't otherwise the clause is completely pointless.
This. A release clause is worked out per individual basis. It's not always (albeit, it usually is) a case of 'offer this, we can do nothing about it'. Certainly when other bids, higher bids, come to the table, it gets more complicated.
Seriously its all rubbish the Blackburn owners dont have a clue what they are doing, They didnt understand what a buy out clause was and are trying to save face as the player could of gone for £25million. Unfortunately the clause is legally binding and Jones has already turned down 3 clubs to join United.
You mean completely pointless like players contracts? Out of curiosity did Ronaldo have a get out clause and was it worth £80m?
Lets say we end up paying 20.5million. 16.5 upfront and the rest dependent on certain things happening like us winning the league and him playing a certain number of games ( lets say 100 ) Least its another theory being branded about in the press. basically no matter liverpools bid we wont be any worse off at all.
