Don't be daft - we'd likely have lost with good refereeing but we would have scored first and that would have affected the whole match
We were lucky tgey hit the woodwork twice and missed 2 one on ones ,,, we were worse than crap ... it was the worst performance in years...possibly ever considering how many quality players we have...and how players like bae are playing in the championship whenwe are crying out for a left back... **** decisions, **** football and **** manager imo
Are you blind or just stubborn? Liverpool completely dominated us and ref decisions only came into discussion when the game was already lost. For a team who you think could have scored first, how many shots did we have?
Likely lost? Now THATS a glass half full comment if ever there was one ... That was a disgrace... £130m spent in 18 months and thats tge **** football he serves up...
This The time for excuses and apologists is over. There are some fundamental problems that have been clear for weeks, if not months now and tonight was the last straw for me. (There are no more to clutch at!!) The EL and COC results have papered over the chasm-wide cracks.
The ref failed to give an obvious shirt pull in the box after about five minutes. I assume that's why PS is saying that we would have scored first.
We all know what 'decisions' are being referred to mate - but we only have the number of points we have so far because of 50/50 decisions that went our way (Penalty against Palace for example). To raise them today as some sort of mitigating factor is a smokescreen.
I'm sure we'd have lost anyway, as the performance was absolutely dire. Doesn't change the fact that the ref was appalling, though. Villas-Boas deserves the blame for this result entirely, but I really wouldn't like to see Jonathan Moss anywhere near another one of our games in the near future.
Which is clutching at straws, I assume if we had scored that penalty Liverpool would have come out and attacked, leaving space. Funny as that's what happened anyway and they hammered us and we couldn't get near the ball. But I guess if we got that penalty the stats say the game would have changed.
Agree totally. But not like alot are saying because of team selection. Alot of that was forced on him. I blame AVB as he didn't learn from the City game that when you play against the some of best strikers in the world you cannot play such a high line-especially with a makeshift back four and then when you are down to 10 men. However we didn't give up- 87th minute Capoue is in their penalty box lining up a shot.
Don't always agree with you RCL, but this time you are spot on. I can't stand this train of thought too many mangers blah blah, if he's not performing replace him. He admitted he stuffed it up, how many more times. From the first 5 mins I knew we were going to get a stuffing. I always try to give someone a chance but AVB has now proved he is out of his depth. And before Powerspurs give us some more stats about record points gained,no disrespect but they mean nothing because they don't tell how bad our performances are.
As the dust settles on a bad day at the office for Spurs supporters you should think yourself lucky we didn't more than better the 7-0 battering in 78 to a team back then full of players who loved playing for the Spurs shirt not just the money. But while some of you have been slating our players and manager we've been improving and the manager is showing his growing credentials in management, ok it might all go pear shaped for us later in the season but our expectations were not to win the league but to give the top 4 a run for their money and finish higher than last season, you lads expect to much to soon from virtually a squad of strangers, your manager is rightly getting stick bigtime and if he clings on to his job he should learn to use the attacking style of football Spurs are renowned for. Anyway I'm glad we got a good result at you at the Lane for a change, it'll keep HAIG of our backs for the foreseeable future on his mouser thread.
The referee was poor today, he blew for pretty much everything. I can understand you guys getting frustrated as the more important decisions went against you but he was giving the petty stuff (which adds to the irritation) against us too so at least he was being consistent. Shame some of you can't hold your hands up and say well played to Liverpool but fair play to anyone that does. Good luck for the rest of the season bar visiting Anfield
When AVB is fired we can send him a framed certificate, of his record points tally and points record in the Europa league, just to say thanks. He can then take that to his next interview and present it to back up his application. Maybe 3rd time lucky in England for Avb.
I aint suprised you dont normally agree with me...I dont agree with half of what I say... As for avb ... I enjoyed watching the united match...it was exciting and fun to watch...the rest aint been...most have been functional and boring, 3 have been humiliating, 1 was ok ... thats unacceptable imo
I don't think that anyone would argue that you didn't play well. Quite the opposite, in fact. We were bloody awful, though. West Ham beat us 3-0 in a similarly poor home performance and they're ****e. Rodgers got it right and Villas-Boas got virtually everything wrong. Your players did well and ours were poor to a man. Can't say that I agree about the ref being consistent, though.
Rodgers and Liverpool practice pass and move, doesn't always work but Rodgers has a clear plan and while he also makes strange decisions, he wants to play attacking football and wants his creative players to express themselves. For that he deserves the rub of the green and yes we made Liverpool look great but that doesn't change the fact they are a positive side who learn from their mistakes and deserve credit as even without the refs help, they made Avb look like a clueless manager.
