"First, “support” the team. To me, that means going to games whenever it is reasonably possible (and watching them on television when it isn’t); putting your money where your mouth is; and expressing your support in positive ways whenever possible.

When you feel the need to express your support by criticizing, do so with courteous language and respect for our players. Saying that a player is “crap” and other similar terms is neither. When you feel the need to criticize, use specifics and not generalities. Try to limit those comments to the game just played. Saying that “he didn’t track back,” “he didn’t read the game well,” “his passing was not accurate,” and the like, are better than personal attacks and rude generalities. Even expressing an opinion that a certain player is not up to the challenge of playing in the Premier League is better than calling him “crap.”

Remember that there are eleven opposing players trying to disrupt our play and limit the effectiveness of our players, and that sometimes some of those opposing players are better than ours. That is never a valid reason to bad-mouth our players.

When you do not agree with another poster, say so with the specifics of your disagreement. Calling him offensive names or using offensive language accomplishes nothing worthwhile.

Possibly most important of all, show your maturity and knowledge of football even in criticism. [Actually, you do that every time whether you intend to or not.]

Fortunately, a majority of supporters on Swans websites do support the Swans in the manner I suggest, and we all can learn from them. Thank you to all of them. They know who they are, and so should we. "

I have posted things like "Williams was poor" and so on but I hate to see the hate coming out for players like De Guzman and others. One poster actually said he 'hated" him the other day. Honest to god, it's ridiculous.

There's a way to criticise and sadly some of our lot can't master it.

 

I agree, we need to get off the back of some the bar stewards in our club.

Tell you one thing Dai, what I've always admired about you is your humble aura of genuine modesty. Such a great poster.

Well you dont give your full support for 54 years without being passionate and committed thats for sure... I shall miss it for a while next season but i wont miss what football has become..

I did see that a small group of supporters are having a party scheduled for the end of season. Can't imagine why.

"AVB's job is on the line i reckon and should Laudrup want the job then i will drive him up there myself.. He may do well for a big club but for me he is well overrated and don't have the level of skill that Martinez and more so Brendan have got….there will be thousands of happy jacks if he do leave.."
