Been sacked, as you probably know. Good replacement for Powell when he's sacked after the first 2 games
Wouldn't want him. Seems to have bust ups all over the place. Anyway, let's try and be positive and hope Powell will do the business. I'm sure he'll get more than 2 games.
I try not to predict too much cafc5. All I know is he has my support and I hope he succeeds. If not, then I have confidence that the board will act sooner rather than later in replacing him. I generally try to be upbeat and positive though and my pre season thoughts are not on being unsuccessful.
Makes me laugh, yeah the manager who cant hack it in the premiership, or realistically get there. Nothing but overrated. Likes to spend money at clubs with stature at their level. He just doesnt deserve the level of acclaim he gets. Forest's squad last year and position should have lasted the fight, instead they dropped out of play-offs. Costs too much money for negative egotistic mediocrity in my mind
Why on earth don't you's just get behind Chris Powell? Sure he sent our promotion-push tits up last season but he inherited PP's squad, not his own. He's working hard to make this squad his own this summer and he's Charlton through and through. For that at least, he deserves to be given a chance. I'm not saying he will succeed (and I fear he won't) but I will wait to give him a chance before I 'cross my fingers' and hope he gets sacked.
Why's he a **** manager? He took over a hopeless squad of players who were over-achieving under the guidance of Parkinson and yes, lost and drew far too many games with them. But now he's developing his own squad this summer, in an attempt to make them fit with his ideal style of play. At least wait to pass judgement until you have seen how he copes with them. As for not getting behind him, he will benefit greatly from having support from the fans, if everybody starts booing and heckling then how do you reckon that will help? The club is under a process of redevelopment, its frustrating being in this league I know, but we won't get promoted overnight.
Yes, he had a terrible run of results. But he was trying to get the team play a different style of football than they were used to, using terrible players and for most of his games we had nothing to play for. Give him a ****ing chance. If you dont want to give him a chance, go support another club.
Its ludicris that people wont give Powell a chance! As Ryan said he got us playing more attackin passing football it was hard for the players to get used to after 4/5 years of hoof ball crap! Give him a chance, his building his own team, everyone has been impressed by his 2/3 signings so far! Crowd support will play a major role in whether we get promotion or not, lets do a Norwich and get behind the team!!!! I do think we can win the league next season under Powell! Up the Addicks!!!
If you look at the teams that have been promoted over the last four years they have ALL played proper football and not Mr Parkinson's kick and run style of play. Billy Davis is a poor man's Iain Dowie and about as successful!
To be honest he was baught in mid way through January don't go telling me 15 odd days isn't enough to bring in some decent players
Think CP being a club legend, the very least he deserves is a chance to build a team he see's capable of exercising his methods on the pitch. If it doesn't work this season, he will have no excuse. In the meantime I think it's important we as fans back him, as I said before, a club legend has earnt that from us as a minimum, surely?
the fact you thought he was "baught" in tells me what i need to do, bore off and either get behind the club, or go watch palace, you'll have plenty to moan about there.
the owners have said that they didn't want to buy in January (think bwp was a special case) and it is their money so they call the shots.
