Not me, and it's not hindsight. I said time and time again at the time I was shocked how far backwards we had gone. I agree about the Nigel myth though, people don't like to admit it but some of the very best football Ive seen in 30 years as a City fan came under him.

Hardly a squad brimming with depth is it! We had about 13 players after Barmby took over that were in contention for first team football, and Aaron McLean was amongst them!

Bit of an old debate but Barmby steadfastly refused to use Tom Cairney and Jay Simpson and froze out Mcshane.

Cairney played a fair bit under Barmby didn't he? From memory it tended to be him or McKenna as the two deeper midfielders with Evans though I might be wrong. Definitely remember Cairney playing his best football for a while under Nick whilst Koren was injured.

Agree he probably could have used Simpson and McShane more, though there were rumours that Simpson refused to play wide right, so it's understandable to a point that Barmby wouldn't select him.

Barmby said Simmo was competing with Koren, Koren got injured and Barmby still didnt play him. TC hardly played. All in the past now anyways.

True about the first two forgot about that but 5 managers have refused to play Cairney now and 4 refused to play McShane before Bruce came. He was also **** whenever he played. He only got good about 6 months after Barmby left.

Also Davies Headband is right about Simpson too - he refused to play on the wing which Barmby wanted him to do because Fryatt and Koren were his strikers. Bruce only started playing Simpson when Fryatt got injured and even then he had to overtake Proschwitz in the pecking order before he got picked. Pearson never played Simmo either, he even preferred McLean to him. So it's not as if Barmby was the only one not playing these players.

It was Gretton, wasn't it, not AN ? I always think of AN as Les and Andy unless something changed. I'm a bit out of touch with Fanzines though recently. I remember when I didn't think CI was the province of cocks.

Mark Gretton and Matt Rudd write for AN, in addition to Les and Andy.

Completely agree Chazz. Pretty...but what's the point of regurgitating a 2-year old article that proves nothing. I was a big fan of Nick but I'd take Steve Bruce as our Manager any day. Adam did a lot for the club but we're now in mid-table in the Prem with the best team in our history...so how did that work out. I'm not crying in my beer.

Can we see if we can get someone in who will take a cut of ALL transfer dealings.I have no idea if anyone has done this in the past.

Anyway lets hope we get someone who takes from the club rather puts £72million in.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you have to make the investment by loan with so much interest to avoid a whopping ****ing huge tax bill?

There's no tax liability at all for money put in, only for money taken out.
