The same Walcott who scored two goals against Man City only yesterday?

Would rather we buy another play maker then a winger.

I might be wrong but it seems to me that neither Ramirez nor Ozvaldo are suited to our pressing game, neither track back or close down effectively. Hopefully Ramirez will be off in January and if Ozvaldo isn't prepared to put in a full shift then maybe there will no singing of 'Oh Dani Boy'. I think by and large we are covered in midfield but could do with more dynamism up front to augment what we have.. Clearly playing JRod, SRL and Dani Boy in the same line up, as per the first half yesterday does not work. My feeling is that we should sell and replace Dani with someone who fits the system.. Maybe we need a workhorse with premier league skills, someone prepared to defend from the front, but has goals in him.. Those of us old enough to remember the perpetual motion that was Phil Boyer who also scored goals might be the sort of player to fit the system.... Shane Long might fit the bill.. and his is coming to the end of his WBA contract and might be make him affordable..

yes lets give up on osvaldo already, and if our replacement takes more than 5 games to settle then we can sell him too.

He does a lot of running, too. More than Lambert does, especially recently.

But you know, if you're not performing at top level after 10 games then you're obviously hopeless.

Osvaldo isn't the finished oroduct , but I do quite like him. Lambert gets marked out of a lot of games, Osvaldo will always be running/looking for the ball, even if he does a crap touch or tries to do something cocky when a simple pass would do.

I do indeed think you may be wrong. MP knows Osvaldo from Espanyol and has presumably signed him because he is suited to our pressing game. Unless MP's an idiot, of course.

Amazing performances for Spartak though, and their fans' player of the season.

reading your comment on Osvaldo, I can only deduce that you don't attend games and watch them on a stream, where the camera follows the ball. That or you sit behind one of the steel posts giving a restricted view at St Mary's.

Firstly, have to say that I don't believe that Rickie will go to West Ham. However it does raise a point. When SRL signed his last contract he said he wanted to finish his career here (which seemed reasonable given his age), but, bearing in mind he is still fit and playing at the peak of his career, does anyone think he has another move in him ? It could depend on his financial position and he has probably only had decent money (for a footballer) in the last few years.

Southampton are currently at the front of the queue for the signature of Wolfsburg midfielder Diego, according to reports from TuttoMercato.
The Brazilian ace looks set to leave the Bundesliga side in January, and has been linked with a host of clubs across Europe.
La Liga high-flyers Atletico Madrid – for whom the impish attacker has played before – were thought to be one of the leading suitors for his signature, but reports suggest that Diego himself is not keen to return to the Spanish capital.
That leaves Southampton as one of the front-runners, with Mauricio Pochettino open to the idea of signing the samba ace.
It is thought that the Argentine is looking to add some more creativity to his side over the coming windows, and sees the former Juventus star as an ideal solution.
Diego may be willing to move to England, with the opportunity to play in the Premier League potentially a tempting one for the 28-year-old

A midfielder...classy, but a midfielder nonetheless. Defender and GK first, please.

Are you switching your allegiance from Ramirez to Osvaldo FLT;)? I don't agree with tiggermaster that "Ozvaldo isn't prepared to put in a full shift" but he hasn't really shown much yet (apart from that goal obviously). I still think we look so much better when Lambert plays as even if he doesn't tear up defences he always brings people into the game with great control and neat passing.
