Hopefully, that first half is the last Saints fans will see of the three striker look. Some of the worst stuff we've played all year, and you cut through the midfield with ease. Second half we were actually managing to press and take away possession, and it made for a much better spectacle. Here's hoping that the return fixture will have more at stake than mid-table jostling for both clubs...and jostling between the goalkeeping coaches.

Happy with a point Southampton are a good team and were the better team second half.

With any luck <ok> I knew you were a good side and it would be a tough one. Just a tad disappointed by our finishing and abandoning our passing football completely. I can see why Pards wanted to mix it up as it did cause problems but the players got carried away with it.

    Not much in it.

I like your approach with regard to the academy so wish you well bar the return of course!

Feel slightly frustrated tonight, granted Southampton are a half decent side but we seem happy with a point when another 3 points should have been the key goal IMO.

Overall still happy with 4 points in the last two games.

A draw was a fair enough result.

Hit the nail on the head mate, sadly we are too cautious if we lead at half time, it's 40 games since we scored the first goal in the second half of a game that we've lead at half time, that is deeply worrying.

Our double decker broke down just outside the Carling academy, totally blocking the road for 40mins. Didn't get back to Peterlee until 8.00. Total gridlock! Still, many a beer was supped in the Star. <ok>

LOL. I know that one well.
Once say John Beresford in a purple shirt with frilly cuffs sat in the seating bit to the left as you walk in.
He looked like an Austin Powers tribute but he actually thought he was being fashionable. :)

Desperately unlucky not to win the game. Except for a 15 minute spell in the second half (right after half time... again <grr>), we were the better team and should have put the game to bed. Loic had an absolute shocker. Two of the easiest chances he'll get here and he fluffed 'em both.

We had a couple of offsides in the first half, presumably because Cisse had gone for a warm-up jog... The guy is the thickest person ever to play the game... A game Paul Merson once played.

The worst player that started the game was unequivocally Santon, who was at fault for their goal, numerous lapses at the back, and slowing up our play on the left. I think he should give Ben Arfa his right foot so we can finally send him to live in that hole from Batman 3, where he can't f*** up defensively ever again.

Those three aside, everyone had a decent game really. Anita was superb, Tiote was immense, Sissoko powerful and Gouffran everywhere.

Sholas boots got a lot of mud on them to change them from white to brown so that's why we didn't win.
I think TJPF should volunteer as a boot cleaner to run onto the pitch whenever the whiteness fades.

Anita's a little guy but he's big in stature. Got a pic of him and Willo standing side by side.

    Little and large.

    Anita, HBA and Remy.

Plus beating man united away was always going to make this game feel a bit of a let down

    bump

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25596491

Osvaldo banned for 3 games and fined £40,000

    Woodman fined £1,250

so it seems the Southampton player was the main culprit of the fracas
thought he's got off lightly for what was common assault (cowardly at that)

we would be facing a three year banning order if we (fans) had done the same
