Well considering many of you agree that getting a newly promoted side is a tougher task than some other clubs we have had quite a few tricky first games.
I am not sure I would go along with that theory about playing newly promoted teams on the first day, they may be better than the teams that only just avoided relegation but still one of the "easier" teams in the league.
Well many teams tend to think getting United early is a good first game as we are slow starters so what do you make of that? Face it, your just desperate to find any advantage we may have so you can try and belittle us. Unfortunately the only advantage we have is more than everyone else, we come out on top
No attempt at belittling going on, how do you belittle the current champs? Just that earlier you mentioned conspiracy theories and tin foil hat wearers so I was wondering what your evidence against these loonies is. So, in your opinion who/when was your last "difficult" away game on the opening day?
It's still quite a while ago to have had a "difficult" game first day of the season though wouldn't you say.
Not really. Look at Arsenals supposed easier run ins over the past few years. Means nothing. You play everyone eventually and if anything, the first games are the toughest regardless of who you play as the players are a little off the pace they will be at mid season.
Us at home to Swansea. Swansea will have 16 players out suspended for being welsh on english soil and we will be given a 4 goal head start for having an 'M' in our name. Howard Webb will officiate and hes good for 3 goals each half. I also understand we have been given 24 points already and will play no games against City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.
