    This one's on the money.

This isn't exactly a blip in the middle of years of flamboyant performances.

Perhaps it's the psyche of the QPR fan, that is used to crazy inconsistency, that effective and consistent performance is so alien that we consider it dull.

During how many of those erratic years would we have taken a run of winning by any means?

Great post Tooting and long may this run continue.

We used to sing boring boring arsenal and they would win 1 - 0 consistently - when rush was at liverpool in past years - boring to watch - 1 -0 from a tap in from goal hanger rush - they won games - they were seen as classic teams - but boring and never classy. We miss our maverick no 10's - come back Adel!! :)

Its mid season, we're top of the league, harry is meeting all his KPi's and we are complaining...WTF!!

Harrys mandate is to get us up regardless of what it takes. As far as i can see he is doing that as requested.

The entertainment will come when we play at man Utd, arsenal, City etc....this is about a means to an end.

He's got a blend of players that are delivering results no matter how ugly it is.

Anyone who goes to Milwall, Blackpool or Leicester etc to be entertained needs thier head testing IMO.

Seems some wont be happy even if we romp the league until certain others return....<doh> He's bust getting valuble premiership experience ATM..leave him alone.
If we need anyone its Remy back<ok>

I concede having Remy back could prove useful. He started brightly enough for us but faded a bit, and now seems to have returned to what we expected just in the North East

    But, mostly I think, stealing the Rockne quote from Queens in the post above;

"The secret is to work less as individuals and more as a team. As a coach; I play not my eleven best, but my best eleven - Knute Rockne"

This - sure it would great to play entertaining footie but first & foremost over everything has got to be promotion so if the rest of the season continues in the same vain & we get promoted I'll be doing kart wheels no matter how good/bad we played to achieve.

I think we also have to remember most people on this forum thought that we would be mid table at best and could even have gone the same way as Wolves did. Well that is not going to happen is it , so all us itk's are wrong for this season. We have a back four that does not conceed, we have a striker that is going to be our first 20+ since the days of Sir Les and we dominate possesion for 90% of our games. Most managers would say that is a formula for success and will bode for a good season. People are a bit upset that we are missing a tricky number 10 or a flambouyant winger. I can guarantee you any supporter/manager/follower in this league would swap with qpr right now.

Personally as a club at this moment in time I would take stabilty and top spot over tricks and 10th in the league. The future of our own club will be more stable if we win promotion this year, i see it as almost vital so for one I am in a happy place.

Good post, QL. And we have to remember how far we've come in less than a season. This is a patient that's been given a major blood transfusion. We are shaky and lacklustre at times, and the quality of some team displays have not added up to the sum of their individual parts/players. But we've been consistent up to this point, half way through the season, staying in the top three. Benayoun should give us thrust, and despite Harry's protestations to the contrary, I wouldn't put it past him to find one or two quality additions that will cover us for possible injuries going forward. We are not the real deal...yet. But on a graph, our line of improvement would be pointing upwards. That's good enough for me at this point.

I'm inclined to agree as well. Why should we have the right to brush everyone aside 3 nil every week with a squad only assembled at the start of the season? I've been to five or six this season and streamed a few and have been generally impressed with the steady progress, if not always the football. Admittedly we've been really shocking in a few and were totally outplayed by Blackpool first half but that's going to happen from time to time. To think otherwise is ridiculous. This league is more competitive than we're giving it credit for.

Obviosuly I'd like to see us play with a bit more urgency but we'll get there style wise eventually I'm sure. It wasn't that long ago that we were creaming ourselves over our 33 pass move against Barnsley(or whoever it was)

This rings very true. Huge investment to repay which can only be done with PL cash. But has HR got it right by translating that requirement into a very conservative system? Personally I think he lucked out in the first 10 games or so by sneaking wins when draws or even losses seemed more likely. Since then we have shown some more spark on occasion but that's usually when HR is forced to make a change late in the game. Next Saturday will be pivotal. My call would be that its worth going **** or bust for this one to really set up the second half of the season. Anyone want to give me odds on that happening?
