No, the defence lost it's shape when Wenger took off Flamini for Gnabry. Which was a ******ed substitution.
Yes the first half. Monreal was piss poor all game and was backed up by the equally poor Wilshere and left us horribly exposed. By the time it was 3-1 we kept going forward and just left so many holes. It would have been interesting to see when we were in that great spell had Giroud taken a few of his chances where we would be. But honestly City deserved it and while they were clinical I don't think they were at their best we were poor.
Tbf Flamini was having a crap game and people wanted a more attacking oriented sub. I'd have taken off Flam for Arteta and Jack for Gnabry/Rosicky
Agreed. Would have taken Wilshere off for Gnabry, you don't play at the Etihad without some defensive protection, or you'll get decimated, and if Nasri had taken all of his chances at the end, it could have been double figures. We were lucky it was only 6, that's how i see it.
Ramsey at least had an excuse of that injury and he was young. What's the Giroud excuse? The guy is approaching his peak and is simply not good enough,

The response against Chelsea is massive and could make or break our season. If we come back from this game and get a positive result against Chelsea, than we can look forward to the second part of the season and what lies ahead, but a negative result and performance, would do serious damage to our morale and also fill us with serious doubts about our ability against the likes of City and Chelsea. We are at home, we have nine days to recover and hopefully Kos is ok by then.
I didn't think we were as bad as the scoreline suggests today. City are amazing going forward and we simply couldn't handle them, they are unstoppable at home. We still scored three goals against them which is no mean feat. So no disgrace, but we need to bounce back from this bad result against Chelsea. I feel nothing but a win will do now.
Only team alongside Bayern to get three at City. And thing is we could have doubled that, granted City could have had ten or more at the other end.
well one positive , if we had WON that , there is no facking WAY Arsene would have shelled out for any decent strikers in Jan . This team would have been sufficient to achieve success. every silver cloud ?
Defence disaster today....And then Wenger decides to completely kill us off when still had some momentum at 4-2 bringing on Gnarby and Bendfuckingner, with Cazorla and Rosicky on the bench, to top it off one of the players he removes is Flamini, our only defensive option in the midfield....Once Wenger made those subs, our attacking play predictably died, and we got overran in the midfield. Today also shows we are not winning the league with Giroud as our main striker, he's simply a good striker, not world class, he goes through so many games without scoring, and today he had 2 good chances that a top quality striker would score.
We need a plan B because sadly plan A is average, Giroud had 2 good balls played to him today, missed both, if we had a solid world class striker, our plan A would be working just fine.
Not average but not a world beater. City looked susceptible against long balls played to runners, if we had a Plan B type striker like that wed have been better.
Here's another positive: this was without doubt, our toughest test away from home this season. It's behind us now. Time to move on. Hopefully it convinces Arsene to shell out in January, we need a new striker, for Giroud's sake. He looked shattered today, as did many other members of the team.
