    Morning Toppy.

VERY excited about Kings Palace today - looked like the reincarnation of Brindisi Breeze last time.

Looking forward to seeing that race Oddy.

What you make of the opening Triumph hurdle trial race? Was that Hendo horse impressive on debut? Nicholls has talked up his juvenile bit I am always very wary of juveniles who get bigged up.

I will be interested to see how Zarkandar goes in the blinkers against The New One. Will he get him into a scrap again or has The New One got too much speed over the 2m?

On my way to Chelts.. Really interesting card if not lacking a few more runners. Intrigue with French and Irish raiders and some classy horses on show too. Really like a few today but Tap Night is the best one. He wasn't fluent in the PPGC and that cost him his chance. Now faster ground and more experience should show him in better light. Nice EW price too.

Apologies(blessing in disguise) couldnt get on yesterday at Bangor--the wonder of mobiles and internet--just as well i would have put up four seconds, two no places and one winner in the last ! my mate did great 33/1 on the upset of the day--all i can glean is that McCain's team are not right, losing with two odds on and a shortfav--winning with a 9/1 shot--have a couple of bits of info-nothing major but hopefully will prove beneficial when the time comes--so with my wretched form i shall leave public selections alone for a bit !!

Had a few pennies on Corkage in the opener for a bit of fun. He runs off 122 today having previously been competitive off higher (130s+). A 3 time Doncaster winner, and first time visor.

Just found this little video of Big Bucks training. What i found interesting was the little circuit he was running round popping to hurdles each time. Never knew they trained like this.

    Nice find Hawk <ok>

Who am I to find fault in the champion trainer's methods, but I'd be worried about doing tendons with a big heavy horse on those tight turns. Although DJ did slow him down a bit after a couple of circuits, which would help.

Haven't had a look at the horses yet, but looking at a decent little short odds wager in the Scottish footie. Hearts v Inverness CT. Inverness CT second in the league, Hearts are bottom and on a bad run.

Comments from the Hearts manager regarding a player availability crisis:

Speaking at this morning's pre-match press conference, Gary said: "At the start of the season we had professionals and the groundstaff lads, which consist of Gary Oliver, Sam Nicholson, Adam King, and Angus Beith.

"So they've been part of the squad all season, but now with Stevo, Holty and Ridgers all out injured we're now left with 12 outfield players and the groundstaff make up the rest of the squad.

"It's not easy but I'm not going to make any excuses. We knew that this type of thing could happen. I said at the start of the season that if we get injuries then it's going to be a big ask for us, and obviously we've got a couple of injuries now. We've just got to try and make the most of it.

"The U20s did really well the other night and one or two did very well in the game, so they'll get an opportunity on Saturday.

"It's a paper thin squad but there's no point moaning about it or me making excuses about it. The most important thing is that we're still here.

"We're going to get on with it and we're going to have a younger team at the weekend than what we have had, but we just have to get on with it and look forward to the game against a team with a new manager and who are doing very well. Obviously we're going to the game looking to try and win, because we're looking to get to zero points."

Billy McKay is top scorer in the SPL. I'm tempted to have a decent wager on an anytime scorer bet at 10/11. Also, 9/5 for him to score anytime/Inverness to win. 18/1 for a hattrick might be worth a small wager too.

Anyway, sorry for hijacking the horsey thread, but thought I'd share the info.

First lay bet landed as Sam Winner sees off Le Bec. Can we get Royal Irish Hussar beaten too?

I'd have been taking you on with Purple Bay Oddy - but couldn't beat the off time. Good luck in that case!

A bit of place money but hardly a power-packed finish from the jockey. Mr Henderson's at 8/1 <doh>
