Manchester City FC ‏@MCFC 54s TEAM NEWS: Pantilimon, Zabaleta, Kompany (c), Demichelis, Clichy, Fernandinho, Yaya Toure, Nasri, Silva, Aguero, Negredo
Arsenal team to face City: Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Monreal, Flamini, Wilshere, Ozil, Giroud, Walcott, Ramsey subs: Fabianski, Vermaelen, Arteta, Rosicky, Cazorla, Gnabry, Bendtner
So we're going for: ----------Sczc---------- Sagna--Mert--Kosc--Monreal -------Flamini---Ramsey-- Walcott----Ozil----Wilshere -----------Giroud------ Pretty much the team everyone wanted. With Arteta, Rosicky and Cazorla on the bench we have options if things aren't working as well.
Considering City's home form this season i'd take a point in this game. I hope we really go for it as i think we are a good enough team to beat City but a point would still be a good result and keep one of our main rivals for the title at bay.
I haven't got my BT sport subscription added to my sky yet but i want to watch the build up to the game, has anyone got a link yet?
I rate Demichelis is the weak link in that City defence. We can get at them but I think it will come down to how well we can defend against their powerful attack today.
Demichelis and Clichy are the places we will get some joy in there defence i think. Walcott needs to be making runs in behind them.
It's a shame we've had so little rest since the Wednesday game. Let's hope they weren't overtrained for the game. Fatigue is my main concern for the game, as I think we're better suited to play City than the other teams that have faced them so far at Etihad.
Yeah i'm hoping the guys are not tiredafter our midweek fixture. Walcott, Wilshere, Sagna and Monreal all come into the team having not featuredi n midweek, Ramsey was only a sub in midweek and Mert/Kosc will be fine. Ozil and Giroud are the two i'm worried about as they have both played a lot. Ozil's style means he can play a lot without being fatiguedbut midweek he dida lot of running. And Giroud looked knackered by the end of the Napoli game.
Good to see Walcott starting. That will keep Clichy busy and should help us keep the City defenders facing their own goal. Also if we're being pegged back in our own half, Walcott gives us a good out.
Funnily enough, I'm not nervous for this one. I don't think many people expect us to win, we always play better when that's the case.
