Disgraceful. You went on the understanding there was no NDA and would publish the minutes. You havent done that. Any personal family stuff could have been taken out. If AA knew you would publish its his fault if he said anything untoward not yours. Unless of course............... 4 legs good two legs better???
Chazz, I hope you're not suggesting CTWD have anything to hide. They're purer than driven snow and only wish to protest against the name change, to advise Dr Allam against his folly and for him to retain his position as Hull City Best Owner Ever. Its nothing personal at all.
I think this sums up our position reasonably well. I'd disagree with us being purer than driven snow. If you can find anything the committee has written, or said that contradicts this please post it.
So as I originally posted, are any of you doubters going to come and air your concerns in person? Surely it's the perfect opportunity for you to make your points and expose CTWD'S true motives (if that's what it is you dont like). Pearson Park has admitted he's not going beyond the keyboard, not really surprising that one, but what about you Happy, and Chazz in particular?
The meetings for pro CTWD, I'm not pro CTWD. Look at the ****s on this board. Pathetic none of them are coming apart from one or two.
I am supportive of CTWD, I am a member, wear the scarf and badge and will criticise the dishonesty and deception of AA whenever it is appropriate. I am not happy with the responses that have been posted over what went on at that meeting; this response is no different, in that regard. Pre-meeting A full account will be given by the various reps (NOT606 the only one relevant to these boards) No Non-Disclosure Agreement accepted as a condition of attendance. Post-meeting The meeting was strange, 3hrs long and rambling. The minutes were being put together for release in a few days. The CTWD committee could not agree the minutes - more than one vote disagreement had been taken. There is content that is in some way damaging. (What did you expect - sweetness and light?) Now it has to be agreed with the club ????? (No NDA????) One of the biggest issues folk have with AA is the lack of clarity, dishonesty and manipulation; do you not consider the campaign group of edging dangerously close to treating its members in the same manner? I don't agree with Chazz in all aspects of this debate, but his point made here is correct and cannot be hidden from through the means of a mealy-mouthed political statement that glosses over the reality.
The meeting is the best chance there is to put forward your views and if you have a decent argument why you're against CTWD this is the perfect time to out it forward. Seems a bit daft you going on about others not going. In fact I'd argue that people who are already supporting CTWD have less to gain by attending than people like you who obviously have reservations. If you went you'd be able to debate it properly, away from a keyboard, see where your/our differences in opinion really lie and everyone can move on. If there's a valid argument against CTWD, as many seem to believe even if they aren't sure what it is, then surely someone will come and make that point?
I'm a CTWD member and, like Chazz and Fez, wonder what is so 'dangerous' about the CTWD-AA meeting minutes that we can't be allowed to see them. And I also don't think your 'reason' is sufficient, OLM. (Sorry).
I really don't see what the concern is. The reasons for not publishing the minutes make sense. As I keep saying, these questions need to be raised at the meeting if anyone has any doubts about the group. Why would you turn down the opportunity to make this point in public to the people who matter and see what answers you get? That's the best way to discuss these differences. Forums are easy for people to prolong a losing debate without saying anything, if there's any real argument against CTWD, raise it at the meeting.
As stated my reason for not attending is I think my attendance would be counted as support for CTWD.That is what they do to underline their "majority" nonsense.
Again, why don't you dig out the quotes of the committee and post links to the statements where we say we are a majority. Interesting that Assem Allam thinks we're majority, where else would he deny a ballot to season ticket holders?
And what's this latest assertion based on? IMO anyone moaning about CTWD with assertions like the above before and after this meeting, who decides not to turn up to air those views in public is just making a tit of themselves and confirming that they're prepared to do no more than moan from their keyboards. The reality is there isn't an argument against CTWD, if there was one to be made which wasn't obviously just going to get laughed at, someone would came and make it.
The pro camp will become further marginalised in the coming weeks/months as local, national and international support against the name change grows. The pro camp have no credible response or position to fall behind. They will be rightly branded shallow; traitors; agents of materialism; the scourge of football and tradition; and the gruesome portrayal of football’s fat and faceless future. Thus, many will jump ship to the anti camp in the coming weeks. Why? By and large, the pro camp is a rag-tag band of the scared, the gullible and the bitter. For all of their lives they have adopted opinions rather than formed their own. Been told what to think and have been told not to seek reason but to make snap judgements based on superficial considerations – think the politics of personality which is prevalent in Britain today. They are largely a-political and are happy to take whatever is put upon their neighbour or to some extent, themselves. Naturally, some will stick to their guns. Some will try and revise history to reinterpret their positions. But whatever happens, these people will be confronted with the deep shame (if they are capable of true feeling beyond a monitory value) that they actively supported the destruction of the historic club Hull City. I would urge all of those in the pro camp or those who repeatedly tell us that ‘they’re not bothered’ to change sides now. Give yourself a chance of having that self respect, give yourself the chance of the respect of your peers of having that chance to say – I stood up, did you?
Chazz, I am behind CTWD, very against the name-change, even dropping AFC; I have always believed the campaign against name-change is necessary, but have always said I think it futile. I am not as pro-AA as others on here, in fact, I have grown to seriously dislike the man. When it comes to trying to second-guess what is going on, I am not really into pulling that apart on here - not yet, anyway. The reason I am particularly uneasy with it is that the progression of comment has changed in the weeks since the meeting, which I find very strange when the facts were known from the moment they left that meeting. I cannot see why someone who has dealt with us in an underhand and dishonest way deserves such consideration as to break the trust made to the forum members who placed trust in the representatives concerned. The club cannot be more damaged than it is being at the moment, or is AA bigger than the club in all of this. PLT - I think you massively overplay this 'turn up or you don't care' chant. This is an internet forum that is mainly anonymous, so all discussion should be conducted on it; any meetings are a Brucie Bonus. For your information, I had a hotel room to use tonight and would happily have travelled and listened to what is to be said, but my position is that I will not attend any game that's counts as an attendance of support to the club. Unfortunately, or otherwise, I will watch it on Sky, as my family and friends have arranged a bit-of-a-do on my behalf. Let other folk make their own choice and eventually and as a result opinions will develop, one way or another. CTWD should not need to harangue anyone into attendance; especially when I can see less reason or sense in saying anything about those damned minutes at the meeting than I can see for publishing to a full audience on here.
PLT, your group offered to represent forum members and this included an assurance that the details of this meeting would be passed on to the City fan base. This did not happen. It would appear at this point that this information cannot be shared with the wider fan base. It is in fact so "hush, hush top secret" that mere mortals are not able to know the contents. I am of the view that this information affects everyone who attends the game today but it would seem none are allowed to know what this information is due to the fact that a self elected group of so called fans representatives have decided it is not suitable for people to see. It surprises me greatly that the genuine media are prepared to give such a group the oxygen of publicity while this issue remains unresolved. This may not last for ever. TWT.
