Not after that incident where all those people on the train saw you you're not. Recognise this poor little fella? Of course you do.
I've just sent the following email to the FA: "I have supported Hull City since 1963. I am proud of them and their name. I don’t want football clubs to sound like American franchises – here today gone tomorrow soulless entities. Please ensure the name of Hull City AFC is not changed to Hull Tigers. If you do decide to allow the name change why not use the same logic and consider changing the name of the Football Association because it sounds so 1863!?"
Not bad article posted 3 hours ago. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/jim-white/hate-name-hull-tigers-just-don-t-163555696.html
I just received the latest "Hull City" newsletter. It's headed "Hull City Tigers" and the footer says: "You received this email as a registered subscriber of Hull City FC (Hull City Association Football Club (Tigers) Limited, registered in England and Wales, Company number 4032392, of Kingston Communications Stadium, The Circle, Anlaby Road, Hull, HU3 6HU)." Company number 04032392 is called "HULL CITY TIGERS LIMITED" I don't think much of their branding efforts!
It's shocking. Considering this whole thing is meant to be about establishing a consistent brand they're making an almighty mess of it, with the badge in the West Stand reception not not having AFC on it, the Facebook page still being for Hull City AFC and there been loads of other examples of things like that I can't think of off the top of my head. FFS there's still an advert at the bottom of the North East stairs for last seasons shirts.
Sorry The club belongs to hull people and he is just a custodian like others before him. Its his choice to put money into the club nobody forced him but he certainly dont own it. He cant close the club down or decide he doesn't want hull to play football anymore in the stadium and he wants to build houses on it. You are talking to someone who saw a certain guy in the name of tony petty who came to our club and thought he could do whatever he liked and he found out just what fan power was all about and within a matter of weeks he was gone with his tail between his legs and we did not have a brass farthing to our name,..We were in the bottom division and we managed to get the club back on its feet so with you in the premiership then you will have no problem...The club belongs to the fans run by people who want to be there for their own ends. It do not belong to any individual whatsoever and they cannot make changes without conciliation on a nature such as this..
I think it is despicable that Allam plays on fans fears (bankruptcy/relegations) etc. to try and push through his hare-brained idea when the best advert for the club is as the manager said, just being in the Premiership! Great post Daiswan- have a great weekend mate.
Hate the way Godzilla appears as a cancer that should be gotton rid of ASAP. what's your view? You ****.
The majority of your posts read in a similar manner to those posted by fundamentalist Christians and Muslims on YouTube science videos – a mixture of ignorance, arrogance and a childlike inability to grasp even the most basic of information presented to you. Hull City AFC is our name, and Allam has admitted that his reason for wanting to change it is essentially wanting to ‘get at’ the council. That negates anything else he says, no matter how good it sounds. And what about his alternatives?! What is the point in his attempt at convincing everyone we are currently called Hull City Tigers? What purpose does it ****ing serve? The fans don't want it, he doesn't even want it and neither the Premier League or FA acknowledge it. I mean, **** me, Hull City Tigers – it sounds like it should be followed by, “Humberside’s finest covers band! Bringing you hits from such greats as Mud and Survivor!” FFS, it’s the Bay City Rollers for Yorkshiremen who haven’t come out yet. It’s even worse than Hull Tigers, as if that wasn’t bad enough... PS. I'll repeat what I said yesterday: First Allam changes the name of the holding company to Hull City Tigers Ltd, and insists (wrongly) that he has changed the name of the club. Then, when he wants to change it to Hull Tigers, he submits a proper application to the appropriate authorities. In-between, after changing the name of the holding company but before beginning his 'rebranding', he insists he has no plans to change the club name. That doesn't add up. Either he's a liar, or he's a deceitful and underhand liar.
