A good start by England and a good comeback by Australia.

They'll rack up 350+ and we'll score less than 200.

    Ashes handed back over.

Just couldn't grasp the chance at 144/5. Hopefully we can knock them for under 400 and bat well.

    Fair play to The Aussies.

Every time they've been in a spot of bother someone has stepped up and delivered. Our lot have done the opposite.

4 centurions now for Australia and we haven't had anyone score a hundred in the last three tests.

Unless someone hits a daddy hundred for us we're ****ed.

What's worse was Smith was out of touch in the 1st & 2nd Tests. He's done sod all before then.

A big day is needed England.

I don't think we've got it in us mate.

We talk a good shag but can't produce the goods when required, not on this tour anyway.

Another thumping defeat is in the offing I reckon.

I really wouldn't write them off just yet. If we can ball them out for less then 400 we'll be in with a chance.

What's screw us is the ball isn't swinging at all. That's our biggest weapon.

    Good point.

Thing I can't get my head around is why take 3 massive bowlers and not play any of them on the bounciest track in world cricket?

If it ain't swinging Anderson looks pretty normal, it would be a massive call but I'd have gone horses for courses and dropped Jimmy and Stokes and brought in Finny and Tremmers.

Probably because Flower and Cook don't trust them to keep it tight. That's what England's game plan is. Bowl dotts and build pressure.

I'd always play Finn. He might go for runs but he takes wickets. I'd happily take 5 for 150 from 30 overs.

That's the theory but the Aussies have scored at nearly 4 an over in this innings, hardly tight.

I agree with what you're saying about Finn. We have struggled to knock the Aussies over so we need wicket takers suited to the conditions playing.
If he goes for a few runs but takes wickets then he's done his job as far as I can see it.

You watch we'll lose this test, bring him in and he'll rip the Aussie batting line up to pieces in the final two tests.

One betting organisation here is already paying out to clients who backed Australia to regain the Ashes!

    That's just plain daft.

The odd are massively against England but these things can sometimes turn around and bite people on the arse.

Saying that I can't see it happening.

Fair play to Australia, they've outplayed England in every department and fully deserve to be where they are in the series.

We have tickets for the 5th Test in Sydney so hope that the series is still alive for that match. To be honest my husband is the 'cricket nut' and I have a seat in the shade and read a good book.We have been to the SCG venue for all Ashes series since coming here in the late '60s.

Who will the ex pats be cheering ?

I'm not judging but I could never turn my back on England and support another country, even if I'd moved there when I was 20.

    England 'til I die.

After I became an Aussie citizen in 1974 I pretty much supported them in all sports. My husband took out Aussie citizenship in 1993 but will never switch from English/ British sporting allegiance. I do join him for Rugby League but not cricket!

The Aussies over here would never do that, so why change your allegiances? That makes no sense.

What did you do last time when England won Down Under?

Its totally bizarre supporting another country. What's even more bizarre is supporting one country in one sport and another in another sport.

Each to there own I guess.

Lad I work with his half Welsh, half English.

Supports England at football at Wales at rugby.

I've told him time and time again he's a dick.

I think it's starting to sink in.
