Yes they do - and there are plenty of good non catholic state schools about for them to send their kids to. If we did away with the catholic schools they'd have even more choice as would everybody else. If you want your children to do dancing or football or whatever you have to pay for it and they do it in their own time. I don't see why the state should pay for kids to learn the faith their parents have chosen for them or why it should take up any time in the curriculum..

Not at all. A dignified silence would suffice.

There's all denominations at a school I frequent - the non-catholic children are asked to show respect, that's all. They're not required to join in with the prayers, not if they don't want to.

Psh, Dan. Our taxes pay for all sorts of ****e we don't agree with, the monarchy and wars for starters, in fact my taxes help pay for the head of States upkeep, a position I am barred from holding due to my religion.

If parents didn't want their kids to attend catholic schools, they wouldn't send them.

Catholic schools get extra funding directly from the church. This has shown to produce higher standards.

    Higher standards = smarter kids.

Remove that extra funding and we have lower standards.

    Lower standards= stupid kids.

Folk on here will tell you that people of faith are stupid.

So by producing smart children, Catholic Schools are contributing to a smarter populace. Smart people don't believe in a God.

No belief in God= no Sectarianism.

Irrefutable proof, as if more were needed, that the best way to combat sectarianism is to send your kids to Catholic Schools.
