If you want a faith school pay for it - don't expect the taxpayer to pick up the bill. If you are not willing to do that and want your child to learn about a faith take them to church and to sunday school or the synagogue, temple or whatever. End of discussion.
My mate Monaco is correct. I was sitting on a crowded bus and this elderly black lady with a walking stick got on. Anyone thinks that catholic schools cause sectarianism is a spastic. There are Catholic schools all over the world yet we see the vast majority of sectarianism in the places were we have a higher number of Scots type Protestants. The major causes have been identified hence we are seeing more punitive laws and restrictions placed on the Orange Order and their like, here and in Scotland.
I've been to quite a few schools in my travels, quite a few taig ones as well. Never had a problem with most of them. Although 2 of them considered it insulting and disrespectful when I refused to take part in mass or prayers, even then I'd attribute that to the teachers and not the school. Schools don't make people bigots but some faith schools have bad practice.
My point is how can Dev say Scotland doesn't have any problems with Jewish or Islamic schools when we only have a grand total of ****ing 3?

You are not made to take part in prayers or mass. What you are asked to do is show respect for those who do.

Catholics pay taxes too, if people didn't want to send their kids to a Catholic School then they would not exist.
